Six injured in chemistry classroom fire at Woodson High School in Fairfax

Five students and a teacher were injured Friday morning in a chemistry classroom fire at W.T. Woodson High School in Fairfax County, school district officials said.
Fairfax County school and fire officials said the students were injured seriously enough to be taken to the hospital, two of them flown by helicopter to Washington Hospital Center in the District. The two are in “serious condition†but do not have life-threatening injuries, according to Chief Richard Bowers of the Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department.
Three others were taken to Inova Fairfax Hospital. The classroom teacher suffered minor burns, according to fire officials, and was treated at the scene and has been speaking to investigators.

Hard to believe that there is even anything in a chem class these days that might be flammable, due to Safety Nazis. I’ll bet they can’t even make a chemical volcano anymore.
