WASHINGTON — President Barack Obama reached out to Rep. Paul Ryan the day before the new House speaker assumed his duties and wished him well. That’s according to White House spokesman Josh Earnest, who says Obama has spoken in the past about his respect for Ryan despite significant differences they have on policy. He says Obama is hopeful they’ll be able to work together. Earnest says that with the GOP in control of Congress and with a Democrat in control of the White House, anything making it through the legislative process will have to be bipartisan. The spokesman says Obama hopes Ryan will lead the House “in that spirit and with that fact in mind.â€

Why did Brat and the Freedom Caucus cave in? THEY didn’t even keep THEIR promise to the American People and caved in to Ryan’s nomination and subsequent ratification of the unlimited deficit ceiling.

I don’t know his involvement leading up to this, but Newt Gingrich said earlier that there was no need to panic, there should be no pressure, and the House Republicans and the Freedom Caucus needed to take time to find the right guy. Instead, they succumbed to Obama’s political threats and pressure needlessly. Newt was so right on in his interviews on Hannity that Hannity wanted Newt to run for Speaker. I don’t know what Newt actually did though regarding this debacle.
Meanwhile, Obama, who couldn’t care less about political prospects, only his agenda, is able to exercise this kind of bullying because he knows the milquetoast Republicans are eternally worried about their own political fortunes and will do anything to advance those fortunes regardless of America and the American People.
I was just gazing into one of my gypsy crystal balls, and I see a beautiful butt-buddy bromance brewing between Bathhouse Barry and Benedict Bryno.
Of course Boehner II will mean that we cavemen conservatives will continue to be treated like red-headed step-lepers.
