Ted Cruz stole the spotlight on social media as he unleashed a tirade on CNBC debate moderators and media in general for creating tension among the candidates and not addressing "substantive issues".

The Texas senator scored the highest activity level - total number of views, shares, likes, and mentions a candidate receives on social media networks - for the night, according to Zoomph, an analytics platform that tracks real-time data on social media.
He had 27,500 engagements on Twitter, Instagram, Facebook and Google+ by the end of the debate, while Rubio followed with 21,000 engagements. Bush was third on social media engagement with what Zoomph calls an activity level at 15,000, while Carson and Trump scored 14,600 and 12,500, respectively.
On Twitter, however, Carson had the highest number of new followers with more than 7,000 new accounts following him by the end of the debate, according to an analysis by CNBC. Rubio was second with about 4,000 new followers, while Trump had 3,600 new followers and Cruz had 3,300 new followers.

Forget the online polls. This is a real measure of debate performance.

LOL! Perfect 8-)
Not singling you out because everyone does it: conflating “activity (as defined as “total number of views, shares, likes”) with positive outcomes. Save for “likes”, the rest could as easily be motivated by “Get a load of this idiot!” as “I just found the guy I’m going to vote for”. Am I wrong?
If not, it sounds like Jeb did well on social media, with third-ranked “activity”.
Cruz wins.
His performance last night was definitely forgettable.
The next president will be pick SC justices. Of our candidates only Cruz is best to handle that correctly.
Christie came out in full support of AGW.
Rubio missed all those votes.
Trump unfortunately clarified that he wants foreign students to stay after they graduate.
“The next president will be pick SC justices. Of our candidates only Cruz is best to handle that correctly”.
I agree. Cruz is the only one I trust to restore the Office of the Presidency to its legitimate role with regards to the Legislative and Judical branches of Government. I don’t see any of the others rolling back the Obama overreaches in their entirety, rather they would probably use Obama’s actions as precedent to maintain or expand power.
Ted Cruz confers with his most important supporters during a break in the debate.
Those are cute kids.
