Unidentified street artists plastered posters conflating Senator Ted Cruz with the Hunger Games' "Mockingjay" symbol around the University of Colorado at Boulder in time for his appearance at tonight's Republican debate.
The posters and stickers which appeared this morning are likely the only pro-candidate activism on a day that promises much more anti-GOP action.
According to The Gazette:
Republicans going to Boulder Wednesday for the fourth GOP presidential debate will be welcomed to the state's liberal stronghold with protests and a plane circling the city with a banner making a quip about the billionaire Koch brothers.
The actions were likely the work of the same artist or artists who decorated Los Angeles with similar posters and stencils last month for the GOP debate at the Reagan Library and identical stickers that appeared around Washington D.C. last week.

Twitter account "Tedniss" has posted pictures from each location and today included a quote from Christopher Nolan's Inception: "A single idea from the human mind can build cities. An idea can transform the World and rewrite all the rules."
In the Hunger Games films, the Mockingjay symbol represents resistance to an overbearing and restrictive Capitol.
Boulder is the San Francisco of Colorado. Its a very liberal, Democratic city.
I live in the rural downstate. Boulder hasn’t really left much of an impression on me the last time I visited it.
the biggest loser tonight was the main stream media- they came away from the debates looking like the liberal butt kissers that they are- They were exposed for their extreme bias big time tonight!
I saw one of the Cruz posters that actually looked like it was spray painted on a utility box. The left picks who they fear.
Boulder = Colorado’s City of Evil.
Interesting that they find him so intimidating, considering he has yet to poll in double digits. It no doubt has to be because he is the most conservative for sure.
Ted Cruz is a dead ringer of Green Acres TV fame, Mr. Haney. Looks and sounds just like him.
“I saw one of the Cruz posters that actually looked like it was spray painted on a utility box. The left picks who they fear.”
The mocking jay symbol isn’t an insult to young people it makes him a hero . The symbol was the one the heroine of The Hunger Games used .
“Street artists? Is that what they are calling them? Obviously they are nothing more than defacers of public property who were handed several sizes of “artwork” produced by one person (not sure that person is even an artist) and then mass produced.

The mocking jay symbol is the symbol the heroine of the Hunger Games used . It isn’t an insult , to young people it makes him a hero. She was fighting corrupt government
Thanks, Lera. Although have heard of The Hunger Games movie franchise and books, I wasn’t familiar with them. Glad to hear it is a compliment to Cruz.
Sabo?
Thats the point! I hope all here realize that these posters are a positive for Sen Cruz.
Pro. Very pro.
Yeah, I’m sure the hipster residents of the Peoples Republik of Boulder put that there to show respect for Cruz.
""""In the Hunger Games films, the Mockingjay symbol represents resistance to an overbearing and restrictive Capitol.""""""..........
the way I read that was Cruz represents resistance to an overbearing Capitol.....meaning D.C...What's wrong with that? It is a compliment.
I have no clue what the Hunger Games are about, not do I care, but that statement seems to me to be a Positive for Cruz...
Yep! Looney UC Boulder.
Some one or some group must have been busy in Boulder Colorado last night indeed.
“Yeah, Iâm sure the hipster residents of the Peoples Republik of Boulder put that there to show respect for Cruz.”
You have no idea what it means .
It is absolutely brilliant marketing wise to the 19-35 year olds
