House lawmakers in both parties joined forces Wednesday to pass a sweeping budget deal that marks both a parting victory for outgoing Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) and a valedictory gift for his likely replacement, Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wis.).

The final vote was 266 to 167, with 79 Republicans joining every Democrat in sealing passage. Ryan was among the supporters.

They get lifetime pension, lifetime security, lifetime healthcare...all borne by the taxpayer.

THEN, they get a cushy lobby gig from their ex- K/Wall St. buddies when they were all padding their own pockets w/ insider trading and the like.

Yeah, somehow, I don’t see that as the big ‘Oh, no’ you may.

Hell, it doesn’t even matter that the majority of voters don’t REALLY matter anyway.

Once those ‘magic numbers’ tally correctly, the rest of the voting public might as well just turn around and go home.

We see enough of it where some prospects drop out because of Iowa and New H., as if their ‘gotta be 1st’ votes are a litmus test for the rest of the country.

Sorry, but neither party is interested in the People, nor fair and honest elections. Else, they would be ensuring ALL People are heard: single day voting across the board (no pandering, no funny-voting), random debate positions (not just ‘popular’ vs. ‘popular’. And, I mean DEBATES, not the crap these days), ensuring donations/etc., allow lobbying but only those that can pull the lever get to donate (no unions, no PACs, no international, no..)

Nor does the Judiciary, knowing where their bread is buttered, with their blind-eye to ‘Equal Under the Law’ (Congress exempted), NEVER citing the Constitution (merely 1910+ ‘precedent’) or the latest BS of ‘standing’

I was talking about you crushing the morale of Freepers.

If the truth crushes morale, then obviously such people cannot handle the truth.

If you cannot face up to where we have arrived, there is no way you are going to survive, much less win a war when you cannot honestly assess the ground upon which you stand, or the reality of the situation you find yourself in.

This is no longer a Republic. It's something else. Get that through your skull.

If you want to lie to yourself and pretend that this coup never happened and voting for Trump is going to restore the Republic, enjoy your slumber. The truth and history teach you cannot vote tyrants and their tyranny out of power.

“So....OK....if everything is fixed by the uninterested staying away from the polls, then why is everything so screwed up?”

Lousy governance since 1989. Free trade. Importation of the third world and it’s problems. A criminal justice system that went to a revenue generation model. A completely failed government school system. Welfare. Take your pick.

Elections at this point have little to do with selection of a candidate and much more to do with control of a restless population. The candidates are already selected well before the election takes place. The differences between the candidates are usually very minor. The policies they will implement vary little as well, as this “bipartisan” budget deal exemplifies. However the political class figured out long ago that you can get a more compliant population by giving the population some meaningless say in choosing between personalities. So we have elections.

Voting is about controlling the population. It has little to do with selecting candidates and pretty much nothing to do with determining political policy.

The population is fed up like never before, and escalating with time still left on the Won’s clock, and tensions running high. I’m not afraid. Bring it on! Trump must win, and by a landslide only.

You know that there are 247 Republicans in the House, right? Stop talking babytalk nonsense. Only Democrats and the Government Party want you to believe voting is irrelevant.

Dear WSJ Editors:

Obama’s full budget was passed by all House Democrats, supported by just enough of the Republican “Leadership” including Ryan and Boehner, with the approval of Paul Gigot’s Wall Street Journal Editorial Page, and in spite of the opposition of the vast majority of the Republican caucus and every conservative of note.

Nobody has credibly claimed that conservatism won anything, so this is not compromise. Republican “Leadership” did not complain that they were forced, so this is not even capitulation.

The masks are off at the Halloween Ball, and approving all of Obama’s budget demonstrates that Obama, Boehner, Ryan and Gigot are all leaders of the pro-government liberal Uniparty.

Last moment I checked, Obama has had nearly his entire agenda passed and rubber-stamped with 247 Republicans in the House.

Who gives a crap if there are 535 Republicans in the House if they enable a dictatorship and vote for Fascism with unlimited debt as our new governing model?

Might as well vote Democrat or not bother voting at all for the results we have been handed. A truth that is self-evident to anyone who is honest.

Are you honest, or stuck in the fairyland of Blind Wishful Thinking?

Only Democrats and the Government Party want you to believe voting is irrelevant.

Since last November when we the people handed the GOP the House AND the Senate, we have been shown without any shred of doubt, that VOTING IS IRRELEVANT.

What part of the term 'Velvet Coup' do you fail to comprehend? What part of 'fundamental transformation' do you fail to grasp? The GOP HANDED Obama that transformation AFTER we voted the GOP into power.

This is no longer a Republic. Get that through your head. It is something else entirely. That is not baby talk nonsense, that is FACT.

Voting is now just a mechanism to placate the masses while the Ruling Class selects our rulers while it is busy replacing us with Mexicans, Guatamalans, Somalis and Middle-Eastern Muslims (aka: 'refugees').

I think we have elections because of the obvious. We are a democratic Republic. That is what was given to us on a silver platter.

What has happened since is that it has become corrupt.

Corruption does not and cannot exist in a vacuum. By that I mean that it requires a compliant and disinterested public. it requires a conspiracy of a sort where the watchdogs responsible for protecting the system, are drugged or are part of the corruption.

Our watchdogs, the media, is not drugged....so

And our media cannot exist without a supportive public.

The public would not support corruption unless they were getting their share of the take.

Thus the reason we are all screwed up is that we are all screwed up. The social compact is broken. Plato was right about democracy as were those who followed saying that it takes diligence and hard work to keep it. That voters would soon discover that they could vote themselves a share of the treasury.

My favorite phrase is that the people of a democracy always get the government they want and deserve. It’s not so much the political class as you stated, who is at fault here or responsible. They are but a creation of the people who are supposed to be tasked with that responsibility.

Those officials, and those governmental entrenched systems were allowed if not encouraged to be created.

You’re mixing things up. These Republicans didn’t vote for FDR or Hoover’s programs that grew government. They didn’t vote for the Great Society follow on that is currently crushing us. Republicans have consistently fought these things. Reagan is a Republican. Don’t smear the entire Party over 79 RINO/Rats.

Government is nearly all Executive power granted by Congress. How easy do you think it is to undo that without the WH or Senate control of 60 seats? The key here is to elect the most conservative POTUS possible and move the Senate toward a 60 seat GOP majority. Then we will see real movement and change.

Here is a partial list of items Mr. Obama has requested from Congress since the GOP took the House back in 2010:

— The American Jobs Act
— The Paycheck Fairness Act
— An increase in the minimum wage to $10.10 an hour
— An array of gun control measures
— Universal pre-kindergarten education
— A week’s paid sick leave for all
— Higher tax rates on the rich
— A new minimum tax on multinational companies
— Overhaul and expansion of unemployment benefits

These diverse proposals have one thing in common: they went nowhere because congressional Republicans blocked them all. Of course, with Senate Democrats willing to filibuster, the President with his veto pen and plenty of votes to sustain him, the Republican agenda hasn’t gone anywhere either. The House GOP hardliners like to characterize this as “surrender,” but a much better word for it would be stalemate.

Stop the handwringing and do something about stopping the Government Party. There are some 300k active FReepers allegedly. If only 1 in 10 would run for some office our nation would already be well on the way to recovery. Instead we get cry baby talk and whining. Stop trumping around and go do something.

The Iran deal is tricky because it’s not a treaty and there is plenty of debate about that. The executive has foreign policy per the Constitution.

I don’t like the budget and many did make tough negotiations. We tossed out three different RINOs, one who was a sitting Speaker. If we win with a truly conservative POTUS PP is gone.

Are you at all aware of the current political warfare going on? This is still the country the elected a Cook County Democrat (essentially an anti-American mobster) twice. It’s not like we’re the majority, control the media or education establishment.

Progressivism is going down by its own weight. Let’s not quit the fight. That’s troll talk.

Your party is dead, completely corrupt and nothing but an arm of a Fascist dictatorship they have made possible with complicity.

Obama got nearly EVERYTHING he wanted to do, and when he didn’t get it from Congress, he violated the Constitution and enacted it by decree - of which the GOP REFUSED to hold him accountable for.

Then the GOP capitulated their own Constitutional duties and surrendered the power of the purse. This budget ‘deal’ your Republican Party championed is an UNMITIGATED DISASTER. Communists could not have constructed a monstrosity as sickening as what your party drafted in secret and passed without reading this past week.

As to doing something, I’m doing plenty. But none of it falls within the delusion that we can vote out tyranny - because I understand what party hacks refuse to acknowledge: you cannot stop tyranny via civil means. The Republic is gone. Wake up and survive.

Or stay asleep and perish.
