COLUMBIA, S.C. The Justice Department will investigate an episode at a high school here in which a white police officer is seen in a video upending the desk of a black female student in a math class and dragging her when she refused to leave the classroom.
The video of a deputy sheriff, Ben Fields, in the classroom quickly went viral, and prompted the Richland County Sheriff, Leon Lott, to ask federal officials to investigate the encounter at Spring Valley High School. On the departments Facebook page on Tuesday, Sheriff Lott said the federal investigation had begun. Local law enforcement officials believe that the criminal investigation will be best served with the F.B.I. as the lead agency, Sheriff Lott said, adding that the state police had also been asked to investigate.

notice that all the other black students sat quietly as this troublemaker got handled??? Bet there’s a history with this girl creating issues for other students
The teacher asked her to leave and she refused repeatedly.
The officer asked her to move and she refused repeatedly,
So what was he supposed to do? Just stand there and wait till she was ready.
Like you said there is no respect being taught and an agenda out there to promote anarchy and to ignore parents, teachers etc in order for the state to raise these thugs.
When will Barack tell these kids to respect authority?
“Justice Department to Investigate Officers Flipping of Black High School Student——Fixed it.”
The racist “Just Us!” Dept is only investigating because the flipping was done by a WHITE cop.

Do you all get full-page orange VIRUS ALERTS from Google when you try to post on the Free Republic?
She REFUSED an ORDER!!! Geesh....what kind of kids are YOU raising?
It is definitely the “Just Us” dept!!
She REFUSED an ORDER!!!
Just listen to yourself. You sound like a Fascist.
No, DOJ is getting involved because the stupid, feckless sheriff asked it to take over his investigation.
The cop should not have been there in the first place.
Every principal in every school in the USA should be required to have a school assembly at the beginning of every year where students are told in no uncertain terms that if they refuse to obey school officials they will be physically removed from the school, expelled, & arrested.
I am damn sick & tired of hearing how these savages think they rule the roost.
The deputy deserves a commendation, not an investigation.
How did I know it was a black student before I even read the article!
Am I the only one who thinks it was pretty stupid on the officer’s part to use that kind of force in today’s environment. Did it ever occur to him that it was highly likely he would be recorded? The media goes orgasmic when a tape like this shows up.
I just had this exact conversation with my barber
If you believe her friends in the class. Heck little St Skittles and Gentle Giant were both described as kind to their mothers and not someone that would ever behave badly.
The fact she behaved in such a bad manner that the teacher directed her to leave the room, that she then refused the teachers direction to leave the room, admin would be in no position to ‘make her leave.’ Police needed to be called. This not the old days where a student respected authority and could suffer consequences administered by a teacher or admin. . .both are powerless, the police were the only option.
