A frightening showing at the box office this weekend featured five disappointmentsincluding two of the biggest flops in history.
Steve Jobs, The Last Witch Hunter, Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension, Rock the Kasbah and Jem and the Holograms all fell short, with only Witch Hunter cracking $10 million. Kasbah and Jem now rank among the worst openings of all time, and Paranormal missed expectations after weeks of anticipation over its divisive distribution strategy.
Instead, holdovers The Martian and Goosebumps came in first and second place, respectively. The Martian grossed an estimated $15.9 million in the U.S. and Canada, bringing the space dramas total to $166 million.

Don’t forget “Truth” (which is a big lie!.
People cannot afford to go see movies any more......................... Explore if your local theater has first showing prices. For the first showing of the day, 11 cineplexes in the area have all prices for $5.00 or $5.50 (better than matinee by $3.50 - $4.00, even better than seniors' prices). So for us on weekends, it is either breakfast and a movie or movie and a late lunch. Then a whole day to explore other activities.
Note: concessions are the same price throughout the day.Can save (for 2), $14 - 18.00 (first showing versus after 6:00 showings).
I liked Last Witch Hunter...
Woodlawn is the only movie out now that I would even consider paying to see. The rest of the crap out there they’d have to pay me. Including Star Wars BTW - is , was and always has been lame space opera.
If they ever make another National Treasure movie I might go to see it, otherwise I’m not wasting my time and money unless there is a chance of an uplifting message.
“Star Wars” is lame, but you’d pay to see another “National Treasure”? Ohhhhh-kay.
I thought it sounded truly outrageous. Truly, truly, truly outrageous.
That's exactly why I don't go to the movies anymore unless it's a half empty theater. People simply don't know how to act anymore.
It’s hard to believe white liberal elites who hate everyday Americans can’t produce films we’d like to watch.... /s
Supertrain was awesome!
Our Brand is Crisis just about has to flop. Watching a movie about competing spin doctors trying to prop up corrupt South American candidates? Who the hell is the audience? I get my fill of the James Carville/Mary Matalin types in real life. I don’t need it for entertainment.
A computer company micromanger just doesn’t make for a good story.
They need tax write-offs...........................
That was a very well done video and a subject I am interested in. Had 2 great uncles fight in that battle.
Here’s hoping you have success in getting this to the big screen!
That was me!...........................B^)
The last movie I saw in a theater was Team America, way back in 2004. Forget Hollywood.
During or after?.......................
Yes, with real people..............kinda, anyways........................
Every movie just looks like a previously made movie with slight differences.
My boss said he was going to see the movie, having read the book. I’ll have to ask him how it is and if it compares with the book story line.
So far, every movie I have seen that was based on a book had little or nothing to do with the actual book story.
Cases in Point:
Starship Troopers - Robert Heinlein
Contact - Carl Sagan
Timeline - Michael Crichton
I Robot - Issac Asimov
Nightfall - Issac Asimov/Robert Silverberg
