New, improved Soylent Green! Now with more girls!!”

Heard that “processed meats cause cancer” jive on the news this morning. Most of those “scientists” are either Muslims or dessicated Euros who can’t stand Americans enjoying cheap, abundant food. Just a lot of scolding & finger-wagging.

Screw ‘em. I’m losing weight with bacon & eggs for breakfast every morning.

Hope this causes a drop in prices so I can start buying bacon again.

If you eat ‘em every day, maybe.

Five years ago, I had never heard of either quinoa or kale. I did see kale used as a decoration around the salad bar at several restaurants.

Lev 11:7 and the swine, though it divides the hoof, having cloven hooves, yet does not chew the cud, is unclean to you.
Lev 11:8 Their flesh you shall not eat, and their carcasses you shall not touch. They are unclean to you.

Deu 14:8 Also the swine is unclean for you, because it has cloven hooves, yet does not chew the cud; you shall not eat their flesh or touch their dead carcasses.

I tried quinoa once. It was very earthy and was more of a base for other ingredients with flavor. I’ve never tried kale unless it was in a dish at a fancy restaurant and I never noticed (not that I go to fancy restaurants that often).

I listened to the video connected with article. No video came up, but a guy with what sounds like an Indian accent says that the estimated percentage increase is 17% for pancreatic and colon cancer.

Nowhere in the article do they say that.

To put that into perspective, approximately 140,000 people in the US get colon cancer every year with 50,000 dying from it. That means that in any given year, you have a 0.0424% chance of getting colon cancer. Eat red meat and processed meat and that chance skyrockets to 0.0496% - according to these yahoos.

Of course they don’t take into consideration the health problems that can come from a diet without red meat.

I think I’ll risk it. Thanks for the heads up WHO!

Let’s put this in perspective- Eating processed meat is a VERY small risk-

A person who doesn’t eat processed meat will have a 5% chance of getting colon or stomach cancer

The chance of getting colon or stomach cancer when eating deli meat every day raises it to... wait for it... 6%

[[If everything is going to kill us, why doesn’t anyone die! It seems that everyone is living into extended old age.]]

Well not everyone- many people do get cancer early in life and die- But I’m betting cases have decreased- but I don’t know for sure
