Bush family gathers to rescue Jeb

This closed-door summit for Jeb Bush’s richest donors was meant to be a pep rally, a reunion for loyalists eager to celebrate the family legacy with two former presidents.

But as George H.W. Bush and George W. Bush draw supporters together under gray skies and unrelenting rains, the gathering has become a rescue operation for a candidate who looks unable to meet the expectations of the family brand.

“The patient is either in intensive care and in need of some good doctors who can save him or being put into hospice and we’re going to see a slow death," said one K street lobbyist supporting Bush. Indeed, the man who was expected to be leading the Republican field by a mile, who raised astounding sums in his first months as a candidate, is now on life support, according to people inside the two-day meeting.

Bush family should just go away. Look at the damage they have done. They should be ashamed.

Bill and Hillary Clinton are the penicillin-resistant syphilis of our political system.

You're right about that. And I fully expect to see a Senator Chelsea before too long.

Yes, they should be ashamed.

Only a few years ago, they were hailed here on Free Republic as a family of heroes. I myself--a life long Republican and one of the Bush Family's most loyal supporters--nominated George W. Bush for Mount Rushmore.

THEN--

It became clear that he had no intention of halting illegal immigration or securing the Mexican Border--in violation of his responsibility--and his Oath of Office--to uphold U.S. law!

And as I watched in astonishment, he proceeded to spend more of the American working man and woman's hard earned money than any President since Lyndon Johnson!

And I realized that he had betrayed the trust of the American people!

But the worst thing that George W. Bush did was set us up for what we have now!

Set us up for what we have now

Most people here still do not grasp that the GW Bush administration(s) are the cause of "Obama".

Because they have no sympathy for the average white Democrat voter, they have no idea how to turn the situation around, either.

I grasp it. Bush gave us Obama instead of Hillary. Or maybe Romney gave us Obama.

“They should be ashamed.”

Royals are shameless. And yes, I believe they see themselves as part of the small entitled international clique put here by God to rule the masses. In other words, I believe they see themselves as American royals.

Let's not be so negative guys.

Jebito's candidacy has had a positive effect in several areas:

<><> believing Karl Rove that "he didn't need them" advanced the cause of conservative Americans;

<><> Jebbie's inane mouthings put GOPeers on the path to nowhere;

<><> "distancing" himself from 41/42 has muddied the Bush family name;

<><> "an act of love" is now the battle-cry AGAINST amnesty.

You just described the majority of Freepers. Don't feel alone........makes me sick to think of how many times we were angered when we saw "Bush Fault"

Hate to say it but truly...Obama is Bush's Fault.

Is Jeb Bush Dropping Out Of Presidential Race? Campaign Orders Pay Cuts, Decreases Staff

By Abigail Abrams @abbyabrams on October 23 2015 12:26 PM EDT

Jeb Bush, whose presidential campaign has been struggling, is cutting pay across the board for his campaign staff, taking some senior staff off the payroll completely and canceling some of his fundraisers, Bloomberg reported Friday. These cuts come as part of a major course correction in response to worrying donors and falling polls in recent days. Via: IBTimes.com

They would have voted if they had someone they wanted to vote for. Some were tired of the “lesser of two evils” and although I voted, I can’t say that I blame them.
