When Bret Baier asked Donald Trump why he supported single-payer in 2000, Trump said:
“As far as single payer, it works in Canada. It works incredibly well in Scotland.”
Trump is either liberal on this matter, or doesn’t have good instincts. Either one is troubling.
I am extreme fiscal conservative, but I also want all fellow Americans protected when a health calamity strikes. Please take a peek at my short profile. I try to explain why everyone should have at least some form of health insurance. 60% of Americans have less than $1000 net worth. How can they take responsibility for their own hospital bills without insurance?
I believe in self reliance. When people end up in a hospital with an accident or serious illness, and do not have have insurance, others foot the bill via higher premiums. How is that conservative? Whatever happened to self-reliance?
