It was explained to me at a Tea Party class an Article 5 convention is a two-edge sword. The founders sent their representatives to the convention to “fix” the Articles of Confederation, but they wrote a new Constitution instead. Same thing could happen here and the Soros folks already have a new Constitution already drawn up, so we were told.

...and the other relative issue would be the fact that the USSC has been engaged in a running article V convention for quite some time. No one seems to have the spine to bring that power play to a screeching halt through nullification simply not buying the opinion of the court.

The constitution is amended about once a month by Obama, and several times every June by Scotus.

They have no right to do so, but will continue unless they are stopped.

There isn't a worldly power that cannot be abused, but at no time in history did reps of the people or the people themselves sit down to enslave themselves.

Your tea party class, when talking about a two-edge sword, is bent on one edge of that sword - the status quo. The COS is all about upsetting that. Instead of from that class, go to the source and read up.

"they wrote a new Constitution"

Firstly, they did not do this in a vacuum. It was authorized by the states. This is well documented by Mark Levin.

"Same thing could happen here"

The convention would have no power to change anything - only to propose changes. Ratification is still required, just as it was in 1789.

Your Tea Party class sounds as if it came directly from the John Birch Society. Why the JBS puts out this leftist propaganda is a mystery to me.
