NATO: Russia More Interested in Shocking, Intimidating
By The Associated Press
BUCHAREST, Romania Oct 16, 2015, 2:29 PM ET
A senior NATO official says Russia would prefer to shock and intimidate rather than have a predictable relationship with the military alliance.
NATO Deputy Secretary-General Alexander Vershbow said Friday that the alliance would assess its relationship with Russia to find ways to "restore predictability and transparency," at NATO's summit in Warsaw next year.
Vershbow, a U.S. diplomat, said Russia appeared to be "more interested in shocking, surprising and intimidating than in calming and building confidence."

It's been shocking, that's for sure. These are some of the children that died when their commercial airliner was shot down:

I think Saudis are waging war on all oil producers - it’s hurting those that can’t produce oil cheaply and that is most nations.

The Battle of Austerlitz (December 2, 1805/11 Frimaire An XIV FRC), also known as the Battle of the Three Emperors, was one of the most important and decisive engagements of the Napoleonic Wars. Widely regarded as the greatest victory achieved by Napoleon,
the Grande Armée of France annihilated a larger Russian and Austrian army led by Tsar Alexander I and Holy Roman Emperor Francis II. The battle occurred near the village of Austerlitz in the Austrian Empire (modern-day Slavkov u Brna in the Czech Republic). Because of the near-perfect execution of a calibrated but dangerous plan, the battle is often seen as a tactical masterpiece of the same stature as Cannae, the celebrated triumph by Hannibal some 2,000 years before.[5]
Austerlitz brought the War of the Third Coalition to a rapid end, with the Treaty of Pressburg signed by the exhausted Austrians later in the month.

Did you ask the Ukrainians why they directed those children’s airplane over an active war zone?

They sure are impressing the Arabs they are fighting for, including our former allies in Iraq and Egypt, maybe even Saudi and Qatar, and surely Iran which Kerry may count as an ally but I don’t
NATO and the US come off here as petulant whiners

I am opposed to shooting down commercial airlines under all circumstances. I can't think of any exceptions.

Somebody has to pay for Syria — -I am pretty sure Iran is paying for Syria as is China. Why China? Because the Chinese don’t want that pipeline funneling oil to Europe when they need it to go to China. Cheaper to pipeline the stuff than ship it on tankers and that will de-incentivize sales to China.
