nside a sleek Denver condominium, George W. Bush let a hundred donors to his brothers campaign in on a secret. Of all the rival Republican candidates, there is one who gets under the former presidents skin, who he views as perhaps Jeb Bushs most serious rival for the partys nomination.
It isnt Donald Trump, whose withering insults have sought to make Jeb pay a political price for his brothers presidency. It also isnt Marco Rubio, Jebs former understudy who now poses a serious threat to his establishment support.
I just dont like the guy, Bush said Sunday night, according to conversations with more than half a dozen donors who attended the event.
One donor in the room said the former president had been offering mostly anodyne accounts of how the Bush family network views the current campaign and charming off-the-cuff jokes, until he launched into Cruz.
I was like, Holy $hit, did he just say that? the donor said. I remember looking around and seeing that other people were also looking around surprised.
Another reason why I will never vote for another Bush. Ever...
Shut up and paint.
Dubya just finished off his brother.

“Who cares what you think!”
Odd use of anodyne but it is one many words that could be used.
I’m very disappointed with GW’s comments about Ted Cruz. Guess I’ll have to take GW off my “favorite Presidents” list.
GWB is arguably in the top 5 of worst president we’ve ever had. I wish they’d make their hatred public. It can only help Cruz.
Any word about Obama?
GW is a NWO globalist fraud IMO. He saved up all his courage to come out an attack a conservative, but stayed holed up in his cushy little retirement mansion while Barry destroyed..and said nothing. GW go away...every Bush needs to just go away. Worthless family.
And to think, (some) Free Republic women 10 years ago were actually swooning on this forum over his muscles while 43 cleared shrubbery on the ranch. And they posted photos of every aspect of the Bush Family life, daily, which would put even the Cult Of Personality specialists attending to Kim Jong Il to shame. I am sure glad Free Republic got past that and realized the Bush Wing of the GOP was and is no friend of the Reagan/Conservative Bedrock of the party.
Typical Rino - speaks worse of conservatives than liberals.
Another reason why I will never vote for another Bush. Ever..

I agree completely. The Bushes are revealing more about themselves as time goes on. I think W is just pissed because Cruz keeps outsmarting Señor Yeb. And that’s not difficult since Cruz has an IQ at least one (and more likely two) standard deviations ABOVE the IQ of Señor Yeb.
In addition to being smarter than Yeb, Ted Cruz’ TRUE constitutional conservatism provides a stark contrast with the PHONY conservatism that Yeb tries to project.
The bottom line is that Cruz makes it obvious that Jeb Bush is neither particularly intelligent nor particularly conservative. Jeb, even with all your money and all your family connections, you are going nowhere.
W, you had your chance and you failed. You helped deliver to us barack Hussein Obama.
The bush family has done more than enough damage to the USA already.
He sat on his butt for almost 8 years and said nothing against Obama and becomes best buddies with Clinton.
His little Empire is threatened and now he opens his mouth.
The Bushes are RINOs and always have been. They fooled enough people to win some elections, but always seemed to commit Democratic tactics such as raising taxes, supporting amnesty for illegals, starting wars, and generally expanding government. They are new world order globalists and party affiliations dont mean anything to them. Ever notice how we always get the worst Democratic presidents after a Bush has been in office?
Like Stalinist babushkas, I am sure a few such loyalists are still lurking around, with little altars in the corners of their homes, complete with curling photos of Laura Bush, the steady and quiet supporter of homosexual marriage and abortion.
If he had fought as hard against Democrats and liberals when he was president, perhaps we would not need Ted Cruz. President Bush is a decent man, but not a courageous one. Senator Cruz is.
He has never had an unkind word to say about Pres. Obama while Obama has betrayed our nation again and again, while Obama has turned his back on Christians being slaughtered in the mie-east. But he is willing to trash Senator Ted Cruz.
This does not alienate me from the good Senator, but from our former president.
