Cruz Wins North Carolina Statewide Tea Party Caucus

Groups Now Coalesce to Support the Texas Senator for President

HOUSTON, Texas – In unprecedented fashion, Senator Ted Cruz won the North Carolina Tea Party Constitutional Caucus, receiving just over 50 percent of the vote from conservative activists across the state. Dr. Ben Carson took second place, while no other candidate received more than 4 percent.

Hoping to strengthen the influence of conservatives in North Carolina, Tea Party groups decided to hold a statewide caucus to determine whom the groups would collectively support in the primary. Cruz’s victory over the weekend signals that conservatives will coalesce around the Texas senator, rather than split their vote among various candidates.

“North Carolina is an important state for the Republican primary, and our campaign will continue to build our team in the Tar Heel state to ensure our campaign is competitive,” said Cruz. “The Tea Party will be instrumental in helping to organize and elect a strong constitutional conservative and I am honored to receive their support.”

Cruz has long been a favorite of Tea Party groups, and the results from the caucus this weekend continue to show that he remains the activists’ choice for president.

Yes, but it is not just THIS forum - pretty much web-wide. Makes me just dismiss them as fanatics. Does nothing to persuade me to look more seriously into their candidate.

Joke post?
The Tea Party is one of the strongest elements of the base of the GOP. They are THE anti-GOPe. The fact they they voted for Cruz instead of Trump shows what true conservatives they are. Cruz is the only true conservative in the race right now.
Trump? He is not even close. The guy supports or has recently supported gay marriage, Obamacare, abortion and practically every far left agenda brought up by Obama.

tedcruz.org "proven record"? Nothing is "proven".

There is no immigration plan (not even a heading for immigration).

There is no tax plan(again not even a heading for taxes).

There is no plan for the economy except for his outdated plan for energy jobs...You know, the ones that are now laying off workers, and shutting down operations... His plan for jobs is ONE industry (just one) that is shutting down like it's going out of style. OH, and what a coincidence that his wife was an energy investment broker. She dodged that bullet.

He has NO "proven record" of legislative accomplishments and yet he sits on about 10 or 12 comities..."sit" being the operative word.

Cruz is catching fire alright. More like liar, liar pants on fire.

One thing the website is good for?...Begging for money and THAT is it.

The only "proof" there is at tedcruz.org is that he is a major fraud.

Idiot post of the year nomination contender?
Why don't you tell us exactly what Donald Trump(et) has done to fight abortion, Obamacare, gay marriage, Obama’s countless illegal executive actions including the Dream Act granting amnesty to illegal alien students?
Oh wait, Trump supported(and in some cases continues to support) these heinous acts.

That Time Donald Trump Had A Meeting With DREAMers And Said “You Convinced Me” On Immigration
Two years ago, Trump met with immigration activists who told them their stories and asked for his support on immigration. “You convinced me,” Trump said as the meeting ended.

You assume that the GOP base is for the establishment. This year, more than ever, this is clearly untrue.

Incorrect.

I am arguing that the Tea Party no longer represents the base of the Party. It has "gone Washington" and is as full of politicos and political hacks as the establishment is.

In your mind.
But enjoy yourself.

For instance, you say: “Trump employs thousands of illegal aliens.”

And I say, “Riiiight! That’s why he says all the illegals must be sent packing.”

True, Trump employs immigrants. But he has declared repeatedly, that he has demanded of his personnel people, that all immigrant employees be LEGAL.

Think about it. It’s been 3 months since Trump announced and jumped to the top of the polls. Don’t you KNOW, that if the MSM, or the GOPe could have dug up the slimmest indication that Trump employed illegals, they would have blatted it from the housetops?

Cruz is probably the finest, or one of the finest, politicians in the Country. But he’s still a politician. And worse than that, he’s an ATTORNEY! And although I want to like Cruz, and WILL vote for him if he winds up as the nominee; I do NOT kid myself about whether he’s a lawyer/politician.

The poster photos of Cruz, several of which are displayed in this thread; the POSES he chose of himself to use on the posters and in his ads, SCREAM to me “POLITICIAN”. Every bit as much as the ones that were here on FR in 2012 showing Mitt as a used car salesman with a cubic zirconium pinkie ring and a sparkle glinting off his teeth, gladhanding everyone.

Yes. Cruz is near the top, as politicians go, but he STILL IS a politician. And he sleeps with some sort of a Wall Street Fund Trader. Meditate on THAT a while.

Happy trails.

Cruz to the best of my knowledge has had very little private sector employment that I can find.
He was with a law firm for five years but other than that he’s been mostly employed in some
type gov’t position.

Trump had ONE report come out, in June, about illegales on his contract crew.

Something must have happened, because there have been no more reports.

Trump is not in touch with everything, but once awareness dawns on him, actions happen. I haven’t yet seen a Cruz attitude adjustment in the wake of erroneous votes. I am wary of plaster saints. They can’t learn.

By all means actually source these allegations. “A poll” can be manipulated in many facets of its execution to look like it supports just about just anything. It’s worth looking at such issues, but scientifically, not as propaganda.

He said “The good ones can stay” but you trumpets never pick up on the reality part of his mega bombast, do you!

The “good ones” he defines as “those that have jobs.”

So dream on, who am I to wake you?

More than having jobs, it’s keeping out of other trouble too, and even then it’s more like return with proper paperwork.

Some “dreams” are better than evil plots carried out in wakefulness. Ask Martin Luther King.

That is NOT what he said. Is your case so weak that you have to twist his words?

He said all the illegals must leave, but the good ones can come back LEGALLY, through channels.

You’d better get a grip. That TDS will make you jump the tracks if you don’t control it.

Your handle is editor surveyor. That’s an odd combination; unless the surveyor part is actually a pollster, as opposed to a land measurer. Please advise.
Thanks.

...Troll on!
Concern trolls smell like digestive gasses...

Actually, no concern for Cruz at all. However, truth in the face of reality can give the recipient indigestion.

You’re taking from his “adjusted” comments a month later.

His first comment was exactly “The Good ones can stay, the ones that work.”

That brought flak so he fudged it.

Getting desperate, are we?
Tsk tsk.
I know what he said. He’s been saying it in nearly every speech. Go to YouTube.com and search Trump speeches, and educate yourself.

They all must go back. The good ones can come back, LEGALLY.

Happy trails.

Yes you are desperate to repeat your lies.

He adjusted his original spiel after he got flak for it.

All Trumpets are desperately ill-informed on all political issues.
