Whereabout? I was mostly out of Hobbs, running daily north and south from Monahans to Lovington... sometimes over to Seagraves, Wolfforth, up to Dimmit. I spent so much time out there, that it feels like home, and I miss it.

The work was stressful, dangerous (including having a bullet miss my head by 3 inches in Hobbs), long workdays... but the sunrises were spectactular, brisket was out of this world, the people were real, New Mexico Green Sauce hotter than anything imaginable, and I experienced quarterhorse races, dust storms, a solar eclipse, a Cinco de Mayo fiesta (accompanied by a lovely seniorita I will never forget), and a White Christmas. I only wish I made time to go to the rodeo... or a HS football game... or buy a pair of cowboy boots and a stetson hat. I have no clue if I will see all that again.

I live in Odessa. The sunsets ARE magnificent! We have the first rodeo of the season and MOJO football is the BEST of the best...played out of Ratliff Stadium as in “Friday Night Lights”. :)

I could not believe my eyes when I saw that stadium... For a HIGH SCHOOL? That told me how serious Texans were about their foosball. I woulda settled for seeing Kermit play Monahans. Haha!

Hi Kathy. Interesting how so many “minorities” — Native Americans, African-Americans, etc. — freely wanted to serve their country. No “victim” garbage.

No... I regret not making time to go to any football games when I was there... I easily could have gone to a Hobbs-Lovington game... but was stuck working dawn til dusk 7 days a week.

Still, how odd is it that here some Yankee up in NW Pennsylvania knows off the top of his head that Kermit is the Yellowjackets and Monahans is the Lobos?

Sheesh, ALL my teams, college and Pro lost over the weekend....sigh.

A major cool down here over the weekend with a bunch of needed rain, so I pretty much stayed inside.

Son is coming over tomorrow to eat and hang out; I always look forward to that.

It's your LAST week? Woo-Hoo! So, the boss isn't going to ask you to come back for awhile part-time to fine tune your replacement?

Off to work in a few hours and more coffee is needed!
