Stop swooning over Putin
Washington Post ^ | October 15, 2015 | By Fareed Zakaria Opinion writer

Vladimir Putin has the United States’ foreign policy establishment swooning. One columnist admires the “decisiveness” that has put him “in the driver’s seat” in the Middle East. A veteran diplomat notes gravely, “It’s the lowest ebb since World War II for U.S. influence and engagement in the region.” A sober-minded pundit declares, “Not since the end of the Cold War a quarter-century ago has Russia been as assertive or Washington as acquiescent.”

Snap out of it Russia is not our friend.

Why not? What have they done to us in the last 25 years? Do you have an education where you're thaught to think rather than hate?

In the longest of long wars, Vlad the Infidel doesn't stand a chance.

The universalism of Islam, in its all-embracing creed, is imposed on the believers as a continuous process of warfare, psychological and political, if not strictly military. . . . The Jihad, accordingly, may be stated as a doctrine of a permanent state of war, not continuous fighting.— Majid Khadduri

Witness the arc of history. Many evils have come and gone. One has lasted nearly 1400 years and is currently making its greatest advances. HOORAY Vlad the Infidel.

Trump was right, the U.S. would be far better off today if Hussein and Gaddafi had been left in place to keep the extremists tamped down.

Yep, and ya can add Mubarak to that list.

In dramatic movies, it is said that the hero is created by the villain, because the more villainous the villain, the more heroic the hero can be.

But it is the same in foreign policy. For a leader to look decisive and strong, it helps immensely if his opposing leader looks weak and ineffectual. Obama in a nutshell. He comes across as a lying, sniveling, lazy, cowardly weakling.

It doesn’t help his case any that when he cannot play by the rules, he also cheats. I suppose the icing on the cake is that he uses drone assassins to do his dirty work for him.

Putin, as a leader, can be reasonably argued as better or worse than others; but Obama is just a worm. Nobody but his toadies and lickspittles will ever argue that Obama even held his own in foreign policy.

So who is the most dangerous. The one that wants to wipe out ISIS or the guy who sets up a lousy agreement with IRAN and soon another with North Korea.

It isn’t necessary to swoon over Putin in order to swoon over Putin IN RELATION TO OUR GORMLESS OBAMA.

I'll stop swooning over Vlad just as soon as I get the VOMITING OVER OBOZO under control!

Obama is no Eisenhower. His reasons and logic (if you can call it that) are nothing close to Ike’s. The author makes some good points, but he ultimately fails because his goal is political rather than intellectual. He is trying to save an obvious horrible record (Obama’s) from becoming an historical fact. It is what it is. Obama has made a mess of the ME, not because he failed to oust Assad, either. The author is trying to draw parallels where they do not exist because his own political ship is Obama the foreign policy titanic.

The American people have forgotten what leadership looks like, so Putin is fascinating to some. The fact that he’s thinning out the muzzie herd a bit is just icing.
