Donald Trump says he doesnt flat out blame former president George W. Bush that the Sept. 11 terror attacks happened on his watch. But he can think of three reasons why one could hold Bush responsible.
And, he might add, they are three things a President Trump would do very differently.
You always have to look to the person at the top, Trump said Saturday in a telephone interview. Do I blame George Bush? I only say that he was the president at the time, and you know, you could say the buck stops here.
So why might one consider Bush responsible?
No. 1: Bushs immigration policy. We had very weak immigration laws, Trump said, adding that perhaps if Bush had had a Trump-style immigration policy, replete with the strong laws that Im wanting, these terrorists wouldnt have been in the country.

My ammo of choice. But I prefer 180 grain.
George W. Bush's apology for 9/11.
"You know Bill Clinton made a lot of mistakes on Bin Laden, and I think he should apologize too. But I was at the wheel. It happened on my watch. I was warned. I didn't listen. And I am sorry. I really am. I could have done more to prevent these tragedies"
That is a satire/humor/fake article.
Then I am extremely embarrassed. I do know that Bush made the comment about it happening on his watch and he was sorry for it.
So I have been punked and will admit it for that article. For that, I am truly very, very sorry.
OK... just have to settle for this apology to the nation from the former Counter-Terrorism Chief about Bush’s mistakes:
- - - - -
” The former counterterrorism chief in the Bush and Clinton White Houses apologized Wednesday to the families of the victims of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, saying, Your government failed you. But he placed the bulk of the blame on President Bush, accusing his administration of not making terrorism an urgent issue. “
and
It was possible to make a very persuasive case that this was a major threat and this was an urgent problem, Clarke said. But the Bush team didnt either believe me that there was an urgent problem or was unprepared to act as though there were an urgent problem.
Probably I should get another job
I thought, if the administration doesnt believe its national coordinator for counterterrorism when he says theres an urgent problem and if its unprepared to act as though theres an urgent problem, then probably I should get another job. ...Clarke has alleged that Bushs national security adviser, Condoleezza Rice, appeared not to even have heard of al-Qaida, ...
-snip-
That’s a satirical site. The interview isn’t real.
Not a good President but I do believe he tried to be honorable.
Very bad since al-Qaida and Bin Laden bombed 2 US embassies killing over 200 people.
lol
Exactly right. Such a simple truth escapes most people.

FLASHBACK: Jeb Bush Admitted Leaky Immigration Led to 9/11
Breitbart ^ | 18 Oct 2015 | Julia Hahn
However, a review Jeb Bushs 2013 book Immigration Wars reveals that Jeb Bush himself agreed with Trumps argument and admitted that our leaky immigration policy was responsible for the attack.
Bush wrote:
In addition to the Mexican drug cartels, the fact that several of the 9/11 terrorists entered the country lawfully under a leaky immigration has heightened national security concernsso much so that immigration enforcement has been placed under the Department of Homeland Security.
Indeed, all of the the nineteen September 11th hijackers were voluntarily imported into the country on visas issued to them by our federal government. Almost all of the visas were issued in the predominantly Muslim country of Saudi Arabia. Four of the September 11th hijackersZacarias Moussaoui, Satam al Suqami, Nawaf al Hamzi, and Hani Hanjourwere visa overstays.
