History hasn't looked kindly on the Catholic Church during WW II. The conventional narrative is not the whole story
At six in the morning on Sunday, 12 March, a procession snaked toward the bronze doors of St. Peters. Swiss Guards led the line, followed by barefoot friars with belts of rope. Pius took his place at the end, borne on a portable throne. Ostrich plumes stirred silently to either side, like quotation marks.
Pius entered the basilica to a blare of silver trumpets and a burst of applause. Through pillars of incense he blessed the faces. At the High Altar, attendants placed on his shoulders a wool strip interwoven with black crosses.
Outside, police pushed back the crowds. People climbed onto ledges and balanced on chimneys, straining to see the palace balcony.
At noon Pius emerged. The cardinal deacon stood alongside him. Onto Pacellis dark head he lowered a crown of pearls, shaped like a beehive. Receive this Tiara, he said, and know that you are the father of kings, the ruler of the world.
Germanys ambassador to the Holy See, Diego von Bergen, reportedly said of the ceremony: Very moving and beautiful, but it will be the last.

As Pacelli was crowned, Hitler at tended a state ceremony in Berlin. In a Memorial Day speech at the State Opera House, Grand Admiral Erich Raeder said, Wherever we gain a foothold, we will maintain it! Wherever a gap appears, we will bridge it! . . . Germany strikes swiftly and strongly! Hitler reviewed honor guards, then placed a wreath at a memorial to the Unknown Soldier. That same day, he issued orders for his soldiers to occupy Czechoslovakia.
On 15 March the German army entered Prague. Through snow and mist, on ice-bound roads, Hitler followed in his three-axel Mercedes, its

Not news. In America and Europe, the abortion movement has had bishops on its side for fifty years, even more. The bishops’ conference in the U.S. has devoted tremendous energy, and millions of dollars, to assistance to pro-abortion politicians. Cardinal Bernardin gave the abortionists the most valuable gift they ever received: the “seamless garment,” an elaborate rationalization for Catholics to vote for abortionists.
Germany had similar bishops. The thesis of Hitler’s Pope—that Pius XII was one of them—is a vicious smear.
It has long since ceased to be an issue, at least for responsible historians.
Does this mean stories about the Vatican Bank and the Mafia are lies?
“Boy, is this going to upset the usual Catholic haters.”
Haters? I don’t think people hate Catholics, I think it’s
just the Marxist Francis that they dislike and I don’t
think Francis would want Hitler dead at all. I think they
would be good buddies being how they have so much in common.
If Hitler was alive today, he would be a hero, even to
the pope.
Borgia, end of.
You obviously have never seen the FR Relgion threads, have you?
I don't know any of those people.
I hate Catholicism.
Check out Post #29, lol.
... and I don’t hate you or Old Sarge.
Many, many years ago, when I was a child in north New Jersey, when we kids had fights, the little Catholic kids would put one foot in my yard and say, “Nah, nah, you can’t make me get out of your yard, cause you’re a Protestant and you’re going to hell!” One of these kids had a sister who was a nun. They all went to Catholic school, where there were 50 kids in a class, and the nuns smacked their hands with rulers if they did something wrong. I don’t hate Catholics, but I sure hate what was done to make them so full of hate.
Wow, I have never heard a tale like that before. That’s just bizarre...
