The jumper will incorporate a side zipper and the slacks will have a front zipper to help with changing in and out of uniform, the Navy said. Both men's and women's uniform pants will have the traditional 13 buttons but those are just for show -- "they will not be functional," the Navy said.

Never mind mission readiness. It is like a ‘gay’ person to be more concerned with appearances than actual substance.

They’ll demand that the male sailors also carry purses.
And live in a village, with cowboys, bikers, electricians, Indians and motorcycle cops.

Incredible. Oh well, becoming aware of the foot and back discomfort wearing high heels brings should make the guys more sympathetic to what women go through to have great looking legs. Or maybe not.

Hey! As an old swabbie I find that kind of kinky. I’d hit her like a cheap WalMart piñata.

When it came to taking a leak, 13-button blues were never very functional. A tailored set was good looking, though.

As a teenager I was privileged to spend a lot of time around WW II vets.
Their stories were rarely G-rated. Now I can see why.

Worked pretty good in in Olongapo, Tijuana, and Yokosuka brothels though, didn’t have to take your pants off.

I hear ya. As a young lad, I heard the stories from relatives who fought in WWII and Korea; the stories became more “interesting” as I grew older.

Every Navy person will now have to squat to piss! How funny will that be when the shooting starts and the enemy does not provide any toilets for the US Navy personnel when they are forced to surrender top the enemy, since the US Navy would not be equal to our enemy because the US Navy might out gun them! Surrender would be the only choice. After all, America deserves to be conquered after the American people stole everything they have from the less fortunate around the world!!!!
Sheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeees! Does this crap ever stop and why does a single American even participate in such stupid idiotic and mindless culture rot in the first place? I would be embarrassed to serve in the US armed forces today, even more so now because the US navy wants its sailors’ to dress like little girls!

I would hope that the new president in early 2017 (Cruz or Trump) commits to reversing as much of BHOs legacy as possible. If not, then we will be lost as a nation. I would go further. I would court martial anyone in the top of the chain of command that acquiesced to this crap. Putting political correctness ahead of military capability is a dereliction of duty.
Make examples of them to put some steel in the next generation's resistance to future efforts at this crap.

The article says in one paragraph that, "Female sailors will also be allowed to carry bigger purses, so long as they match their shoes." In the next, Lt. Cmdr. Nate Christensen, a Navy spokesman, speaks of, "...a Navy that is gender-blind."
It is truly SEXIST that a ONLY female sailors can carry purses! Why not the men, or those who self-identfy as something other than 'man' or 'woman'? The USN is gonna be just like the Royal Nay Vee
