How does real estate and retail executive Ivanka Trump feel about her father’s presidential bid? “That’s a complicated question,” she said, in conversation with Fortune‘s assistant managing editor Pattie Sellers at the Most Powerful Women Summit in Washington D.C.
“I’m proud of him, but it’s a very difficult thing to do,” Trump explained. “My father has achieved tremendous success and he’s not a politician but he’s changing the dialogue and disrupting the process in a very meaningful way.”
Real estate mogul Donald Trump is currently the frontrunner to be the Republican nominee for the 2016 presidential election.
But as a daughter, Trump says her father’s ambitions of becoming President of the U.S. are more complicated for her: “The level of interest and scrutiny is beyond anything you have experienced.”
One moment in particular that created media buzz was Donald Trump’s recent scuffle with Fox News anchor Megan Kelly. At the first Republican presidential debate in August, Kelly quoted some of the GOP frontrunner’s most disparaging comments about women and asked if those remarks would cripple him in the general election. After the debate, Trump launched a series of personal attacks against Kelly. Kelly, who spoke about the incident at the Most Powerful Women Summit on Tuesday, said she overestimated his anger management skills at the time.
His daughter said that the feud with Kelly was sensationalized for TV and it didn’t really “interest” her that much.

Ivanka and all his kids speak with love and respect for their dad (and mom). They should do a video with employees of Trump and let them share their insights and experiences as well.
The way Trump is being treated is shameful. He’s #1 for months now, overflow crowds, and they are dismissing him.
So let’s have an election for the President of the United States. Um, wait, not that one.
Sorry, men get to feel inferior (even though they accomplish and earn more than women as a group) and they get to feel like losers in the sight of their women and children even though they work their tails off to support them in every way possible. This meeting is a vagina monologue and you don’t have one. This is where elitist women of America get to lie to themselves and each other that their female nature and equipment make them superior to the nature of men.
Actually, this kind of elitist female self absorption is irritating to me at this point in US social development. Women and men who are successful in this class conscience humanist (amoral) culture, could use all the humility they could get. They should find self worth in having a high character; not in just being successful; rallying around their sex.
They don’t need to be running around bragging on themselves and celebrating their success. Their heads are big enough. They need to be looking at ways to improve life in the US: Protecting the middle class, reducing crime, stopping the invasion, stemming single parenthood, improving the public schools, helping the worthy (smart young people) within the lower and middle class with tuition costs in worthy avenues of study, bringing middle class jobs back to America, etc.
This kind of belly button grazing is for aggressive dummies and losers (with blood coming out of their eyes or whatever). Men don’t need that PC dent in their hearts and brains. Women don’t need it either.

They really don’t like Trump. In a perfect world, I probably wouldn’t either.
We’re circling the porcelain bowl here folks. We either get the illegal immigration and budget under control, or we close up shop.
Trump is coming around on general immigration too. He now recognizes that at least some immigrants are not welcome here.
