Since the 1970s, women have outnumbered men at the undergraduate level in the United States. However, according to recent data from the U.S. Census Bureau, it wasn't until last year that the percentage of women with a bachelor's degree (32 percent) surpassed the percentage of men with one (31.9 percent).

Are they wymens studies BAs?
but in spite of this good news for women’s advancement, we still have to listen to how women earn less than men, and hear about the war on women and who pays for birth control pills.
Where’s Sandra Fluke?? Isn’t she going to be part of the political campaign???
And many of them are the sort of degrees that aren't worth anything.
They’d better graduate and find a job because there won’t be a husband in the future for many of them. But they’ve learned in Womyn’s Studies that husbands are so unnecessary these days.
This is not a comment against women, but did not the vast majority of today’s bachelor’s degrees require less intellect less than a 1947 high school degree?
Given that most Bachelor degrees aren’t worth the paper they’re printed on, I don’t see this as a significant advancement.
Men are still getting the majority of Professional degrees....Engineering, comp-sci etc
And I believe (without doing further research), we probably are looking at a lot of wymin's studies and like et cetera's.
Before I'm labeled misogynist, let me say that college SHOULD be a finishing type of education preparing the inexperienced for the realities of life in the real world
But if college kids call the cops because there's a mouse in the dorm, and they can't express themselves hormonally without fear of reprisal (don't take it apart ... I know, I know ... general statement) and they live in constant fear (battered wife syndrome, watered down) ...
WHAT kind of people are actually GETTING a BA and in WHAT ?
I'm not cowering n the closet just yet, seeing as a "bachelor's" degree in any but the REAL sciences, engineering and math are the equivalent of Jr. High school and they can be literally illiterate and not able to read cursive...
An then there are the "women's Studies" and "Neighborhood demagoguing" the from the Sharpton Campuses degrees, or the Aztlan degree, quite dangerous for society's health...
Not just yet.
Just saying'
It’s going to keep trending this way. The book DATE-ONOMICS goes into college educated women outnumbering men in many cities - New York being a prime example.
With college men being berated as rapists and evil, no wonder they are staying away. There’s also been a ‘war on boys’ from primary school time that’s now being reflected in the college numbers.
“But a lot of their degrees are cr** degrees...
Men are still getting the majority of Professional degrees....Engineering, comp-sci etc”
Not to mention men who get school training in things like IT, aviation mechanic, HVAC,,,etc.
All wind up with fantastic jobs as the barista with a degree makes em a coffee.
Yeah, and our world is so much better. Pfff!
The book DATE-ONOMICS goes into college educated women outnumbering men in many cities - New York being a prime example.
I may be in the minority on this type of issue, but, why is there this unspoken presumption that college educated women should connect with college educated men????
Why is there some presumption that men who didn’t go to college are somehow not appropriate for these college educated women??
Why is there some expectation that women will “marry up”??
Why is it that nobody says anything if a man MBA type dates or marries a woman who worked in a file clerk or retail job? But on the other hand, things are said and judgements made if a woman MBA type were to date or marry a plumber or electrician????
NO!
Higher education...
BSs!!
Affirmative Action was put in place to give African Americans a hand up in the US economy. Then came the ruling that Women were a minority, which left black men out in the cold, unmarried and irresponsible. *A generalization, I know.
Let them hold toilet paper.
It’s worth more than those degrees. When one of these “educated” women need something useful done, maybe they can get one of their fellow feminist queer studies graduates to make it happen. Will be a real hoot watching them try to change a light bulb.
I can tell you that I am positive that union electricans and linemen make more than me with a degree. They do quite well without degrees and lots internal training. Many jobs are like that.
