"America's great now -- it's never been greater," Buffett said on Tuesday while speaking at Fortune's Most Powerful Women conference in Washington, D.C.
That's almost the exact opposite of Trump's slogan: "Make America Great Again!" The phrase is splashed all over the billionaire businessman's website as well as the red hat he wears on the campaign trail. Trump even recently received a trademark for the "Make America Great Again" phrase.
But Buffett, a persistent cheerleader for the U.S. economy, isn't buying into the assumption America isn't great right now.
"Our kids are going to live so much better than we do now," Buffett said.
Even though economists are growing concerned about U.S. and global growth, Buffett isn't freaking out. He pointed to signs the U.S. housing market -- a key cog in the overall economy -- is gaining steam. Buffett also cited strong sales at furniture stores as evidence of real estate strength.
Of course, it's easy for Buffett to be bullish on America. The 82-year-old's net worth is estimated by Forbes at a whopping $62 billion. Buffett certainly doesn't need to worry about stagnant wages and the loss of high-paying manufacturing jobs that weigh on many voters' minds.
But Buffett is concerned about rising inequality. He told CNN earlier this year the "American Dream is alive and well, but it isn't for a good many people."

Guess it is great when you can make billions off of people, huh.These rich people are so out of tune with what’s happening in the streets and in the homes of this land. They live in a isolated, insulated bubble, free from the cares and worries and troubles of everyday people. Thus they think everything is grand, wonderful, carefree. It is not. This Country is as bad right now as I’ve seen it in my 51yrs of life here. Our economy sucks, the moral climate is horrendous, jobs are out there if you want to work part time or get paid peanuts, manufacturing is scarce, they are now importing workers to take our jobs instead of simply outsourcing our jobs overseas,healthcare is taking a bigger chunk of our going nowhere wages thanks Obammycare. We are a real mess!
Trump has apparently not forgotten his humbler roots. He may be out of touch with some things but he is not an utter elitist snot like Buffet.
The parable about gaining the whole world and losing your soul well applies to Warren Buffett.

If Warren Buffet donated his entire $62 billion fortune to the retirement of the $12 trillion debt being tossed off on our children and grandchildren, he could take care of a whopping 0.5% of the principle. I doubt he’s got enough personal wealth to take care of on year’s interest.
The guy may know how to make money for himself, but he is a jackass and a moron if he thinks that our nations present course will have the result that “Our kids are going to live so much better than we do now.”
