Former Administration Official: Obama Acting ‘Impotent’ In Face of Putin Syrian Intervention
Washington Beacon ^ | October 13, 2015 | Morgan Chalfant

A former Obama administration official who worked on foreign policy said that the president is causing the U.S. to act as if it is “totally impotent” in the face of Vladimir Putin’s military intervention in Syria.

“The optics are that we’re backing off. It’s not like we can’t exert pressure on these guys, but we act like we’re totally impotent,” the former administration official said, according to Politico.

Indeed, multiple current and former players in the Obama administration have expressed opposition to the president’s reluctance to respond to the Syrian civil war or Moscow’s military buildup there that has worked to the benefit of President Bashar al-Assad.

Obama’s senior national security officials, including Secretary of State John Kerry, Defense Secretary Ash Carter, and CIA Director John Brennan, have reportedly called for a stronger response to Putin’s military intervention in Syria in closed-door meetings, but the president has directed no such action.

It's very simple. Obama could as president use the powers of his office militarily very effectively and to great extent to influence the circumstances going on in Syria and other areas of Russian intervention. But he's very emphatically, purposefully not acting at all and that is because to take any action would be in the interest of thee United States, would benefit the United States which is the last thing he wants to do. He's taking no action, allowing Putin to act militarily with impunity because it diminishes American power and influence. Look what he did with the Aircraft Carrier Theodore Rosevelt. He sent it out towards the combatants but then inexplicably called it back.

Is this man who is supposedly running the country not the most despicable leader of any country ever? Is he not the most treasonous, duplicitous, sinister derelict to ever be? Why he can't be held accountable for his inaction on charges of treason, dereliction of duty and other charges is beyond me.

Obama’s a willing accomplice, despite all the huffing and puffing. He and Putin basically share the same new international order vision: weak US, strong Russia and China.

I think POTUS was going for “totally important”, but it came out this way instead.

Indeed. All we need is a single carrier task force to establish a no-fly zone there. Carly Fiorina said as much.

Everyone acts like Obama should respond to it. I agree. We should fly some SEAD and SAR missions which we are extremely good at for them. And give them lots of targeting information.

That’s how I think we should respond.

Our enemies captured the blackmail goods on Obama in Libya.

Our enemies sold the blackmail goods to our enemies around the world.

Remember, the Democrat Party knows this and will not tell Obama to resign.

Be sure to thank them.

There is no blackmail here. There is no cowering by Obama.

Obama is a Sunni muslim who supports ISIS and their caliphate. Iran is shiite and with Lebanon and Hezbollah, backed by Russia are fighting back ISIS.

If ISIS wins Syria, no only are they are on Iran’s doorstep, but with Turkey now radicalized are just across the Black Sea from Russia. The countries that border that body of water are Georgia, Romania and get this, Ukraine.

Russia is not expanding their influence so much as protecting their country from ISIS and Syria is their firewall.

Obama is backing the Sunnis, Putin is backing the Shiites and the American military is being decimated so they won’t be able to do anything about it. Being that Obama is a protected class, no one can do a thing about this.

If you ask me, I say it is brilliant.
