But it seems like a matter of when and not if between Russia and the US. How can it be otherwise? Fighting for different sides with jets in the air over the same airspace?

Syria has given permission to Russia to be in that airspace. The US has no such permission. I think were beyond pretending that our government is the good guys here.

Russia already established air-superority from the get go and has maintained that.....besides Erodogan only wants the US to insist on no fly zones... so he can corall the Kurds in the North and further 'control ISIS' as he's tried so to do....He's one very bad dude.

Erdogan of Turkey is the other 'primary party' in this theater of war and few news sources report about his part....he's supporting ISIS fully and wants Assad out so he can take control of Syria...
