Malaysia Airlines Flight 17 was shot down over eastern Ukraine by a Russian-made Buk missile, the Dutch Safety Board concluded on Tuesday in its final report on the crash in July 2014 that killed all 298 people on board, most of them Dutch.
But the long-awaited findings of the board, which was not empowered to address questions of responsibility, did not point the finger at any group or party for launching the missile.

“Our assessment is unchanged - MH17 was shot down by a surface-to-air missile fired from separatist-controlled territory in eastern Ukraine,” National Security Council spokesman Ned Price said in a statement.
We, already knew that.
Where are the Ukrainian ATC Radar and voice tapes?
Where is the Cockpit voice Recorder tape?
I think I heard the Dutch have the black box in the first place. The Russian claim that an Su-25 was debunked a long time ago, and not even the Russians are currently pushing that old lie. Right now they’re saying it was a Ukrainian BuK, even though that would require a missile flying across and highly visible over Ukrainian territory without being detected by anybody. Meanwhile, we have Russians including “separatist leaders” (FSB agents) taking credit for it minutes after it happened and showing off pictures.
Anyone who actually believes that the Russians didn’t shoot down MH17 is an idiot.
Yes we did. Maybe these guys are just a little behind the power curve. Maybe the Russians already got those other pieces of gear. Who knows for sure. I DO know, when I was in Berlin, in the 80s, we had a video camera trained on one radar scope, to catch the Russians, who were always cheating on airspace violations. The bastards. .
Old news.
What are they going to do about it?
Still dancing around the million dollar question:
Why were flights over Crimea suspended immediately BUT flights over a live war zone (Donbas) were still allowed for a LONG time?
They really expect us to believe a possibility of conflicting ATC is more dangerous than live SAMs being fired over an active warzone with planes already shot down?
How many people have weapons that can shoot down airliners? There were 160 flights going across that area, including Russian planes. An airliner flying at 33,000 feet isn't at risk unless you're targeting airliners.
Airspace above conflict zone in eastern Ukraine should have been closed before MH17 downed, Dutch Safety Board says - @BBCBreaking
A little late now. Why wasn’t it?
“Why were flights over Crimea suspended immediately BUT flights over a live war zone (Donbas) were still allowed for a LONG time?”
More importantly, why was this flight directed by Ukrainian ATC to go LOWER, and over an area where two Kiev aircraft had been shot down in the previous days, at altitude?
As I said, where are the tapes, and why are they still being kept secret, after all of this time?
One must not be too happy about this finding because there must be thousands of US built anti-aircraft missiles in the hands of the bad guys (thanks Hillary!). It is only a matter of time ...
The full report is here - http://cdn.onderzoeksraad.nl/documents/report-mh17-crash-en.pdf - 279 pages.
As for radar data. Pages 37 and 38 describe how Ukraine provided the investigators with their radar data and Russia didn’t.
Russia claims they didn’t provide the radar data as they did not save it and that Russian regulations don’t require them to save the radar data since the crash occurred outside of Russian territory. Investigation failed to find this exception in regulations that Russia has published or submitted to ICAO. (pages 42 and 43)
Quotes from the report:
“In accordance with ICAO Annex 11 - Air Traffic Services, paragraph 6.4.1 (Automatic recording of surveillance data) states are required to automatically record data from primary and secondary surveillance radar equipment systems for use in accident and incident investigations...” (page 42)
“The Federal Air Transport Agency of the Russian Federation stated that because the crash had occurred outside Russian Federation territory, no radar data was saved, nor was it required to by national requirements.” (page 42)
“The information provided by the Russian Federation does not mention an exception to the requirement to store radar data when that data relates to an area outside the Russian Federation territory. When a state cannot, or will not, follow the provisions of an ICAO standard, ICAO requires that the difference between the national version of a specific standard and ICAO’s text to be reported to ICAO... The Russian Federation has not filed a difference to ICAO Annex 11 paragraph 6.4.1” (page 43)
So basically nothing is resolved.
Perhaps that firm could tell us how Flight 800 was brought down.
Missiles are related to guns and it’s always the gun’s
fault, so a waiting period on missiles is called for.
I can only find this claim from Russian and conspiracy websites, and all generally to support the theory that: It was shot down by a shoulder fired weapon (impossible) or by a Su-25 which has a ceiling of 23,000 feet in normal conditions provided it is not carrying any payload.
Russian propaganda has already evolved from this and now confirms it was a BuK, which by the way can hit targets at 50,000 feet altitude and has an even greater range, thus making a drop of 2000 feet pointless.
They had a policy in the first place of "not assigning blame," so it is the usual shenanigans of European eunuchs. That said, it confirmed it was a BuK missile, and Russia claims it had evidence it was a Ukrainian Su-25. We already knew all the evidence was lies, but the Dutch report adds another voice to that chorus.
MH17: Russian missile-maker Almaz Antey contradicts Dutch report, says plane downed by outdated BUK missile fired from Ukrainian military controlled village of Zaroshchenskoye
Thank you for that post. It just goes further to show how much of a worthless propagandist Tcrlaf is.
