Can it detect a two year old boy suddenly discovering that the power strip has a light on it that goes on and off when you push the little red switch a whole bunch of times?......................

That’s another problem.

There is a power strip in the entertainment center behind the TV that the cat will step on darn near every time she goes back there. You have to cover the on/off button or turn the power strip on its’ side so she can’t step on it.
