The chances of escalation from a proxy war to outright war just went to 11 on the Spinal Tap amplifier of sabre-rattling. A day after British and NATO pilots were reportedly given the green light to take drastic action against Russian fighter jets if they come under threat during missions over Iraq, Interfax reports that the Russian Defense Ministry has demanded clarification. Senior defence sources say it is just a matter of time before our fighters are involved in a deadly confrontation with Russian jets.
The Chinese, it appears, are wholeheartedly behind Putin's efforts, judging by the following puff-piece from Xinhua (unofficially China's government mouthpiece)...

Putin is a psychopath lite. Witness all the pics of him on a tiger, etc, his excessive bullying of other countries over energy prices, his invasion and bombing of Georgia for preferring the west.....it all adds up nicely.
That said there are plenty of them working here in the US and some in very prominent positions of power.
If they do something you like, they do it well and it can be very satisfying.

Insanity, although I do note the "over Iraq" and not over Syria. Syria has been a client state of Russia since the 1950's and Russia maintains a naval base there so I think Russia has every right to defend Syria from attack by whoever. Attempting regime chance in Syria is insane. Did we not learn our lesson in Afghanistan, Iraq and then again in Libya?
Trump is right our leaders are STUPID. Perhaps O wants to finish off what's left of the US military? What better way to do that then to get it into a fight with Russia, China and maybe Russian ally India.

Yup, The House of Saud has said take out Assad or else. The or else is the Saudis sell oil in denominations other then the US dollar. When that happens the US dollars is worthless. Now a worthless dollar would make Russia, China, Iran and a few others very happy. Which is why Russia, China and Iran are all in Syria backing Assad.

The Russians are using MIG-31M fighter jets in Syria.
The MiG-31 is a high performance interceptor--an aircraft designed to pursue and shoot down other aircraft. It has been specifically deployed to deny uncontested airspace to American and Israeli fighters. With its' most current upgrades the MIG-31M could be a serious threat to American aircraft.
The Russians know that the U.S.is operating the F-22 over Syria and would like an opportunity to try the MiG-31's radar against the American stealth fighter.

Russia, unlike the US, if in Syria by invitation of the legal gov’t of the country - also has had a navel base there for decades, so has a legal presence there also.
But the biggest treason I’m okay with Russia going in a REALLY fighting ISIS- instead of arming them, as we are - I is that Netanyahu is with Russia.
I trust that Netanyahu knows more about what’s really going on over there than I do - betcha he knows more’n YOU do to. (just a guess...sq)
