N.Korea Fires Multiple Launch Rockets
NHK World ^ | March 4, 2014 | NA

Posted on 03/04/2014 12:09:03 PM PST by Parmenio

North Korea fired several rockets into the Sea of Japan on Tuesday.

The South Korean Defense Ministry on Tuesday said a total of 7 rocket-propelled projectiles were fired at 6:00 AM and 5:00 PM local time from near the eastern coastal city of Wonsan, North Korea.

The ministry said the 4 rockets fired in the afternoon are believed to be a new model of multiple-launch rocket. It also said those rockets landed in the Sea of Japan after traveling about 150 kilometers.

A spokesperson for the South Korean Defense Ministry strongly denounced the launches, calling them a threat against the joint US-South Korean military exercise that began on February 24th.

North Korea has been continuing its military provocations. It fired 4 rockets believed to be multiple-launch models on February 21, and short-range ballistic missiles last Thursday and Monday.

South Korean and US forces are on the alert for further military provocations.

I believe that the term "multiple-launch rockets" means that these were ICBMs. But never fear, Barrack Obama and Chuck Hagel are keeping watch. What could go wrong?

I believe that the term "multiple-launch rockets" means that these were ICBMs.

Keeping in mind they went through language translations and all the technical comprehension of the journalists...

It probably meant capable of launching multiple rockets.

That seems kind of far, an MLRS with 150 Km range. Our old M270 had a range of about 40 Km or so if memory serves.

You are probably correct, a reloadable mobile launcher for a SCUD type sounds better.

Geez I hope they don’t have an MLRS with that kind of range now...

Remember when the North Koreans sank a Japanese boat and Sec. of Hate Hillary Clinton said that we should not jumped to conclusions or make an international incident out of it?
