France on Sunday called escalating violence in Israel and Palestinian-controlled territories "extremely worrying and dangerous."
The office of President Francois Hollande said "everything must be done to calm the situation and end this cycle (of violence) which has already caused too many victims."
In response to rocket fire on Israel Saturday night, the Israeli Air Force launched airstrikes against two Hamas weapons manufacturing sites in Gaza. A pregnant woman and two-year-old daughter were killed in the strike.
Early on Sunday morning, an Arab woman from Jaffa attempted a suicide bombing near Ma'ale Adumim east of Jerusalem, lightly injuring one policeman and seriously injuring herself.
Gas balloons and other explosives were found in the terrorist's car and early evidence suggests she would have detonated the bomb in Jerusalem, had she not been pulled over by police.
"This new worsening of the situation also confirms the urgency of restarting political efforts," France said, adding that Paris "will not spare any effort in working towards this."

Does Fwence and Israel have some treaty (or treaties) between them? What does that say about the Fwench as an ally? Shouldn’t US and other countries have ‘concerns’ about their own relations with the Fwench?

If this follows the usual pattern they will end up somehow placing the blame on Israel and exonerating the muslims.
How about the Frenchies try and stem the tide of Muslim violence in France? ..Or have they already surrendered to it?
France should be more worried about violence in France. The enemy lives among them and they are only going to get more violent as their numbers increase.
I never see any moaning from Europe until Israel takes punitive measures. Then it’s a blow to humanity what is taking place.

Same thing went on according to Herman Wouk’s The Promise in 1948. Don’t know enough history and don’t have the time to research it, but according to Wouk, back then when the Arabs were gaining ground, the UN didn’t lift a finger to press for a cease fire. As soon as Israel started gaining ground, there’d be a huge clamor for an immediate cease fire.
Wouldn’t surprise me if Wouk’s assertions are borne out by the evidence. It figures. There are more of them, and they have oil.
Very obvious what Hollande will do to attempt to calm things down: Urge Israel to surrender as much territory as possible, restrain its police and military, and apologize abjectly for everything and anything. This has been the European and UN formula for peace since before Oslo (which Ironically means ‘toilet bowl’ in Hebrew and perhaps several other languages). It never works. It invites more violence instead. But the You’re-a-peons cannot get their brains around why, or come up with any other idea.
Un bon mot, Ulysse, but I would also include Germany, Switzerland, Lichtenstein, Belgium, etc., etc., etc., and sometimes England and maybe Italy in your assessment. Your continent is on fire, and France is not the only country who is afraid to put it out.
