Cuomo signs ‘Under Two MOU’ global warming agreement

NEW YORK >> New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo on Thursday joined government leaders worldwide in signing an agreement to help combat global warming and keep the Earth’s average temperature from rising dangerously.

The Under Two MOU, a memorandum of understanding signed by more than three dozen government leaders, affirmed New York’s commitment to helping keep the Earth’s average temperature from rising more than 2 degrees Celsius and committed the state to working to reduce greenhouse gas emissions about 40 percent by 2030. Cuomo said he hoped New York would be able to generate 50 percent of its electricity from renewable energy sources by then.

“Climate change is an issue of society’s sustainability. To deny that climate change is real is to defy reason ... denial is not a survival strategy,” Cuomo told an audience of a few hundred people at Columbia University before signing the agreement.

And if the source of all heat on Earth disagrees?

Temperature variations on earth are from variations in solar output. The Sun has caused every Ice Age and all warming.

CO2 is not a pollutant and all who believe that it is should stop emitting it personally. Problem solved overnight.

Like King Canute commanding the tide, these brain-dead Progressives commanding the global temperature to stay down 2 degrees is delusional.

Sheer silliness.

What we should be working toward is energy independence.

We are already essentially independent in fuels for generating electrical energy, so while solar and wind energy are good niche sources for specialty purposes, they do nothing to increase our independence.

Transportation fuels are what we import, and it is in this area we need to focus on becoming independent. The money we send out of the country buying fuel, if it was spent here putting Americans to work, would turn this economy around so fast our heads would spin.

So, more shale, more fracking, more giant pipelines. More people working, more money flowing into the economy and the tax base, and shrinking deficits if we want them.

2030. Cuomo said he hoped New York would be able to generate 50 percent of its electricity from renewable energy sources by then.

They already get over 50% of their electricity from non-CO2-emitting sources -- 31% from nuclear and 20% from hydro.

As long as bat-sh** crazy leftist governors in the big liberal states like California and New York are making their citizens cough up more tax money and live with more goofy Nanny State rules to fight Gore-ble warning the rest of us are covered and can go about our business in greater freedom and paying lower taxes.

But the people in those states keep electing these jerks as governors so they must like being treated like rented mules.

Hey Cuomo, that is just great, good luck with that! Now please help us conservatives with just one thing; How do we keep liberals from moving to red states when you libs ruin the economy and culture enough that it us just too terrible to stay? Like Detroit after 50 years of democrat control? Or Chicago?? Or just about any other slum?????

We really don’t want your type, and obviously you don’t like us, so please stay put.

It’s the frog in the pot. Most of those enthralled by, and voting for these shyster Leftists in the State of California simply don’t recognize the temperature of the water is increasing yet. They’re all too busy running around collecting freebies paid for by taxes confiscated from those that know the temperature in the pot.

Cuomo was the HUD secretary who pushed Fannie and Freddie to purchase at least 50 percent of their mortgages for homeowners who made below the national median family income - and led to the great financial bust of 2008 - why isn’t he in jail?!.....

I'm in wayyy upstate NY and last winter was one of the coldest on record. My natural gas bill was $700 one month. People around me weren't worried about Global Warming, but keeping their heat on. I don't mind searching for alternative sources of energy, private companies will do that when it is cost effective. I do despise a Governor who says no to fracking and lets our heating company charge about 60% of the bill as a “delivery charge”. That is also on electric, and NY approves what they can charge.

I was a little surprised I didn't see it in the first fifteen. Unfortunately there is substantial precedent: California effectively did this years ago.

” affirmed New York’s commitment to helping keep the Earth’s average temperature from rising more than 2 degrees Celsius “

The people who claim we can do this are the same ones who claim we can’t build a secure barrier on our border, and that it would cost too much.

The only “commitment” I want Cuomo involved with is the one for his voluntary (or involuntary) commitment to an insane asylum for Lefties. He’s always have friends there, lots of little Marxes, Lenins, Stalins, Castros, and Putins in there to talk to.

Hey Andrew: “Batshit crazy, stupid, and a Democrat is no way to go through a sane life”.

[[New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo on Thursday joined government leaders worldwide in signing an agreement to help combat global warming and keep the Earth’s average temperature from rising dangerously. ]]

What a crock of CRAP- YTemps are NOT going to rise dangerously even if we up CO2 100 times the amount it’s at now- but these LIARS will get to say in 20 years, when temps do NOT increase ‘to dangerous levels’ “See? We kept temperatures down”

I can not believe this LIE has gone as far as it has!

Under two MOU? I read that headline as a younger version of NAMBLA’s “Sex before eight, or it’s too late” child molestation guidelines.

No they will stop it from rising two degrees. They will claim that their self righteous actions saved the world. Really easy to do since the world is not warming. Thus how can anyone dispute the claim. Plus it preys upon people’s desire to be good and helpful. You have to hand it to the marxists, they really know how to brainwash and use the ignorant.
