#62: The Shirelles: Tonights the Night
Flo Greenberg of Scepter Records teamed producer Luther Dixon with a girl group from Passaic (NJ), and this began a string of hits. They had three good years before disappearing. Dixon and lead singer Shirley Owens wrote this tune about the thoughts of a girl about to lose her virginity. Welcome to the Sixties!
