On Fridays Morning Joe on MSNBC, Rep. Darrell Issa (R-CA) discussed the state of the House Speakers race in the wake of Rep. Kevin McCarthys (R-CA) announcement that he was no longer running for the spot, which is soon to be vacated by Rep. John Boehner (R-OH).

He’s delusional.
Because you don't have a public vote on the house floor until you have a private vote in the Republican caucus which shows that a candidate has the necessary 218 votes.
It better to have a family fight in the living room than in the mall.
I could support Darryl ISSA. I supported him when we were in California... and he LOVED the military. He was a good man. I see evidence he still is. He is better than Ryan, BooHooner, and the hand picked GOPe’r who has been alleged to be tapping into another Representative’s danger zone.
Issa will, like all men, occasionally disappoint... but for making our military GREAT again. I think he would be the man to choose. I believe he is well above the 90th percentile relative to total social and political conservatism. And I don’t think he has blackmail vulnerability on sexual/moral/marital issues.
Why would anyone in their right mind want this job?
Not really, aside from national elections Kentucky elections at the state level tend to go to the Democrats especially gubernatorial races.
I am ashamed KY re-elected that sellout McWeasal. His behavior is not unexpected, Mitch is all about lining his pocket with other peoples $$$. He doesn’t give a damn about his constituents or country.
Exactly -- and we need the best we can get right now.
I want to clean out the rest of the leadership too.
He did the investigations, submitted excellent reports with strong recommendations which were shelved by Boehner and the GOPe.
And after the reports??? No action and no complaints to Greta, BOR, Hannity, just crickets.
Issa has bb balls.
That's one of the better names I've heard floated. She's conservative, articulate, and attractive.
We are not going to get a Tea Party Conservative elected to the Speakership with only 40 true conservatives in the house. Issa is about as Conservative as we are going to get. The 200 RINOs are not going to vote for a hard right Tea Party guy. If you can find someone with a more conservative record than Issa who has a snowball’s chance in Hell of getting enough votes for speaker, then convince him to run.
This seems to be a job where everyone wants someone else to run but nobody wants to run themselves.
Issa apparently is ready to throw his name in the hat. That’s more than about 220 of these cowards.
In times of crisis, leaders take the reigns. I would hope that a true patriot would fight for this job. As it stands there are over 200 chickens cowering in the corner waiting for someone else to take the reigns. The GOP is nothing but a pack of sniveling cowards.
do you condemn the snake handlers when they extract their rattle snakes at your Sunday services?
I agree. I'sa not gonna support Issa.
