Sen. Ted Cruz said Thursday that he doesnt think that Donald Trump will capture the 2016 GOP presidential nomination and predicted that it is only a matter of time before most of the New York billionaires supporters will move into his camp. During an appearance on WABC-AM Radio, host Rita Cosby asked Mr. Cruz whether he would eventually move past Mr. Trump based on his conservative principles, and the Texas Republcian said I think thats right. In time, I dont believe Donald is going to be the nominee, and I think in time the lions share of his supporters end up with us, Mr. Cruz said. Mr. Trump has tangled with most of the candidates running for the Republican presidential nomination and has touted how some of his rivals have sunk in the polls after attacking him. But he has not traded barbs with Mr. Cruz, who has been Mr. Trumps biggest ally in the crowded GOP field. In the WABC-AM interview, Mr. Cruz continued to praise Mr. Trump, saying he liked and respected Donald. Mr. Cruz said Mr. Trump has boosted his candidacy and his chance of becoming the partys standard-bearer. I think his involvement has been tremendously helpful to my campaign because it has framed the central question of the primary as: Who will stand up to Washington? Mr. Cruz said. And if thats the central question, the natural next question, that any voter will ask is okay, well who actually has stood up to Washington? Who has a record in that regard? The Cruz campaign also announced Thursday that he will report raising $12.2 million over the last three months exceeding the hauls of fellow Sens. Marco Rubio of Florida, who plans to report $6 million, and Rand Paul of Kentucky, who raised $2.5 million.

>> “My own premise is this, that should the media/Establishment/KStreet/Coc/Wall Street actually succeed in taking Trump down, then its a certainty no one else will stand, who is even marginally conservative.” <<
Science fiction at best.
They have no desire to take him down; he is their dream guy. He’s the same Donald Trump that praised the recent SCOTUS sewage, and called for a total hand gun ban, and praised the Canadian and Scottish single payer “health plans.” (and stared admiringly at Slick and Hildabeast)
.
Either the people are incensed enough to wake up and elect Cruz, or they elect any of the other trash and that’s the end of the USA. (the end is close anyway, regardless of who they choose )

Just addressing the abundant evidence pal!

Who else can best him and still win? As long as he pro Life, against the atrocities of PP, then I am free to love his leadership style.
Trump is proving to be more than candidate, he’s a force. We need a force, not a nerd, not a girl, not another pol.
Nope, we’re not going to have any of that, not this time.
It’s just Trump or Bust. If he busts, trust me, you’re busted too. Say hell, oh, to one more GoPE nominee.
Your choice. Charge the hill.
They aren’t humble, they’re arrogant with purported anti-arrogance.
Just razzing your special occasion word choices. Trump supporters have to be flattered you drug them out, for us.
Donald Trump cuts across a lot of political lines. Sure, the Establishment might like some of his long-held liberal views, but they don't like his immigration talk and his general unpredictability, so they don't want to see him elected.
And there isn't one GOP Elite or Establishment. If you put together corporate executives (many of whom rely on cheap foreign or imported labor), middle of the road GOP campaign consultants, and Movement Conservative journalists (all of whom dislike Trump) it's not like there's one ideology or set of views that unites them. The fact that the reject Trump doesn't mean that they agree about things.
Also, while Trump cuts across existing ideological lines in a big way, so do the other candidates. The idea that somebody's purist candidate would never get support from Establishment or Elite circles (however you want to define them) is naive. There would be a split, but not a complete rejection.

>> “so they don’t want to see him elected.” <<

There is zero evidence to support that assertion, and a mountain of free prime face time on all of the networks to refute it.
If they didn’t want him elected, they would treat him just like they treat Cruz.

Yes! God is not fair, but just. He also made some men taller than others. He made a covenant with Abraham but not with Lot, with Jacob but not Ishmael.
Romans 9:21-23 Does not the potter have power over the clay, from the same lump to make one vessel for honor and another for dishonor? What if God, wanting to show His wrath and to make His power known, endured with much longsuffering the vessels of wrath prepared for destruction, and that He might make known the riches of His glory on the vessels of mercy, which He had prepared beforehand for glory...Emphasis mine.
Do you believe that every man prior to the cross was condemned to die an eternal death?
No, many believed in the types and shadows of the promise to come. In these last days He has spoken to us by His Son, we have the advantage over men in history. They were without excuse, we all the more for to whom much is given much is required.
Shalom! And to you...
General comments follow. They are not to focused on you.
Seeing the wretch you are,
God's Spirit is within you.
Don't give up. He hasn't.
When despare and certain detruction are all around, we truly see ourselves for the wretches we are,
the Holy Spirit is within us and has caused us to focused clearly so it can comfort and or help.
Rejoice. He is there. Our salvation is just an acceptance away.
Salvation through faith in Jesus Christ...
From that moment on, we seek to follow God's word, and sin no more.
Sinning is a rejection of God's love. You are biting of the apple.
God knows the power of sin, but He wants to know you're trying.
Jesus gave his life for you. If you were the only sinner, it would have been for you.
We are all sinners and have fallen far short of the Glory of God.
Trump makes news. If one news outlet doesn't cover him others will and the one that doesn't will lose out.
Ted Cruz doesn't make news -- or at least his campaign doesn't -- so there's no pressure (or much reason to cover) him.
I'm not sure what you mean by how they "treat" Cruz or Trump, though. The election is over a year away. It's far from certain who the nominees will be, and (apart from the random bloggers that get posted here) the mainstream media hasn't even begun to fight.
Interesting things to ponder to be sure.
I’ll admit to having a problem with my spouse not being my spouse in heaven. It she was special enough to share my experiences here with, I would want to spend eternity with her at my side.
This is simply one more question we’ll have answered in time.
I don’t fret over it.
I think you’ve uncovered the truth on the pretenders. Carter was one of these IMO.
God forgive me, but I didn’t see him as a good Christian or a reasoned man. He was a vicious sort and seemed to relish being in the company of brutal dictators.
He could be a ruthless vindictive man.
I appreciate the comments. Take care.
“LOL...Mr 6% runs a jab at Trump, and hes the bully? LOLOL ;-)”

BS, top to bottom.
It’s like “How dare you believe that anything is right.”
Just pointing out that personal pride is far from the only way that one could believe that a certain proposition is right or wrong.
Okay. Thank you.
Actually each soul does not have the same shot in human terms. God made some for salvation and others for damnation. He receives glory for His love and mercy of the elect and glory for His holiness and justice to those who are damned. Everyone is guilty and deserves damnation, but God elected some, though not all, to be redeemed. For the elect He works in them to will and to do for His good pleasure (Philippians 2:13). So while everyone is culpable for their sin, God works in His elect to choose Him, not out of their goodness, but because God chose them before the foundations of the world. There is a mystery how free will is preserved in the predestination of the elect, but the Bible is clear that God directs the hearts of His own and yet all are without excuse.
Ephesians 1:4-5 ... just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love, having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will,
If such is an open and verified take of a Cruz position about Trump, he, Cruz, has just slipped another notch on my preference pole. I already believe that Trump’s posture as a US icon is by far better than that of Cruz and his wife publicly as to business and privately.
I don’t think being an outsider has to mean being a populist and constantly critiquing big business. Some Republican grass-roots are swinging to much to the Bernie Sanders/Elizabeth Warren side for my tastes. I believe in the Reagan trickle-down approach that what’s good for business is good for the country. As long as no business gets unfair breaks over any other business. Obviously I support across-the-board tax breaks for business but not subsidies.
For me the most important plank of the party is social conservatism. It’s also the plank most often abandoned and thrown overboard by the GOP establishment.
Cruz has criticized and stood up to the donors, even in his recent speech on the Senate floor last month. As Cruz said in his speech, the big donors typically make 3 demands, support gay marriage, support abortion, and support amnesty. And that is why the GOP establishment joins with the Democrats on those issues more with each passing year. To me it’s been clear for a long time that the degrading of the social conservatism planks of the party are the biggest threat coming from the donor class. I trust Cruz more than any other candidate to keep all of those issues a priority.
