Kid tried the same thing with me, once. (just once. :-) ) It was on a camping trip. I drew the line in the sand, approximately said that it wouldn't happen again or the kid would be going home and that was that. No more problems.
Kids love discipline, and love to know where the line is. Parents should be parents, and not best friends - that's where generations (starting with baby boomers, I think) began to fall down.
I would venture to say that this punk’s parents never used corporal punishment with him. I agree with you that this is what kids need. My father spanked me a few times growing up. I spanked my own kids when they were young. We all learned to behave in public and to treat other people with respect and decency. None of us would ever act the way this punk acted in the video.
