I suspected this all along, I really did. There’s just no way women are as physically strong as men, period.
People who believe otherwise tend also to be people who do not classify the sexes by their genitals - and are proud of not doing so.
Are they going to rig combat with ISIS, the Chinese and Russians too?
Shocker. /s
Perfumed prince Martin Dempsey stated,
If we do decide that a particular standard is so high that a woman couldnt make it, the burden is now on the service to come back and explain to the secretary, why is it that high? Does it really have to be that high?
There's also the mental/emotional aspect, and the two sexes are as desparate here as night and day. Men have the something-to-prove attitude in spades over the average woman, and that goes a long way toward physical empowerment.
Women, no matter how courageous, are also extremely more prone to hysterics than men in the face of overwhelming, impending horror or danger. This effectively neutralizes them when self-possession counts the most in combat.
And the rules? Winner lives, loser dies.
I want our fighting forces to be the baddest, strongest kick ass bunch of warriors we can get. That gender or race or anything other than EFFECTIVENESS gets mixed in is ludicrous.
Because his school records are totally relevant to what he's saying today about relaxing standards on Rangers. /sarc
Not surprising. DACOWITS (DA Commitee On Women In Service) Troops later said it meant DA Commitee On Witches then ultiatelay for DYKE’s And Witches, sometimes that last word had a different term)
Yes ... so were the records.
Only an industrial strength moron would believe that a woman can succeed in a program based on physical ability that most men can't do.
That quote is directly from the posted article at the top of this thread.
Many of us on FR actually predicted this and also said that standards were lowered. Its really not a surprise.
I wish David Hackworth was still around for his take on this. His own Ranger tab became a matter of controversy. When it came out that Army had in fact awarded it to him, but then clarified the criterion, disqualifying him, Hackworth acknowledged and surrendered it...
I am an out of shape, over weight, 54 year old man. I want my Ranger tab too.
No, you say. Must be ageism
The non-motorized bride is Ms.Fulton.
I was teaching at West Point when Fulton was a cadet. I did not know her, but every single female cadet in those days received special treatment and she was no exception. The political decisions to integrate women into the military and to ensure that the voluntary military could succeed fundamentally compromised the honesty and integrity of our military leaders. All of our services at the leadership level are just like the many other mediocre militaries around the world like the French, the South Vietnamese, the Iraqis. That is the legacy of our current senior military leaders. I hope that they are proud about that.
You (and I) could pass the test they gave the women that made it!
Women don’t have the upper body strength to cut it in combat. A retired Army officer told me 20 yrs. ago that
there were lots of women in his outfit. When they got the
“bugout” order; they simply could not bug out because the
women couldn’t lift the many heavy items on to the trucks
in order to bug out. So - they didn’t bug out. Period.
