This will GROW both his LIBERAL base and his CONSERVATIVE base.

Good point...The liberals will love it and Trump's base just don't care...I know I don't care what Trump thought 10 years ago...

And post a reply on the club for growth site critical of them and it disappears.
That’s funny.

I agree. I also think it’s interesting they seem to do some sort of an elimination filtering the response to 60%.

I’m not sure exactly what they are doing, but it isn’t the typical internet poll that can be gamed or polled heavily lopsided due to the audience a site normally attracts, Left or Right.

There is a method to this. I don’t see it as worthy of less trust than polls pumping out outlandish results that nobody challenges.

As usual, I don’t see any hard data on the survey (like wording of questions, etc.) other than the margin of error making the article meaningless propaganda.

First of all Trump has no legislative record, so this group is full of crap. Only Trump’s tax agenda I have heard of is when he proposed a one time tax on mega rich people to pay off national debt. That would include himself paying millions of dollars in tax.

Paying off your debts is EXTREMELY CONSERVATIVE. It is the republicans fiscal liberals who keep adding to national debt every year. House of Reps with repub majority can stop the excessive spending any time. But they never do it.

Get ready to see lot more Ads from GOPe trying to destroy Trump. They do not want to lose power, money & control.

The guy who runs Basswood, does numerous polls for CFG....paid for by CFG!

Last cycle, Lerner, a Minneapolis native, advised winning statewide candidates in Alaska, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina and Utah. He has also worked for the Club for Growth and the Republican Governors Association.

Someone tosses out a real hack job poll. The media references it as a game changer.

There was half a dozen headlines on yahoo this morning that Trump was dropping out. That's some serious hallucinogic they're on.

Sure is. Trump just touted three polls this morning, 33-35%, 31.8%, and 28% in Florida where he was getting 21%.

Getting out? LOL

You nailed it with your hallucinogenic comment.

Here’s are some very *interesting* findings, from Basswood Research (CFG’s polling company)....from 2013, on “comprehensive immigration” policies.....a “survey” conducted for Americans for a Conservative Direction....aka Haley Barbour, Dan Senor and Sally Bradshaw (former COS for Gov ¡Jeb!...

*********

On July 8, 2013, Basswood Research conducted a nationwide survey of voters who have a history of voting in Republican primary elections. The survey was conducted by live professional interviewers by telephone. The sample size was 1000, with a margin of error of +/- 3.1%, at a 95% confidence interval. Interviews were geographically distributed to reflect actual voting patterns by Republicans nationally.

####

CONCLUSIONS

Contrary to some perceptions, it is clear that Republican Members of Congress who support comprehensive immigration reform, including a pathway to citizenship, do not run afoul of the majority opinion of their primary voters. That is true in every region of the country, and in suburban and rural districts alike. It is true with Tea Party voters, social conservatives, fiscal conservatives, and moderate Republicans alike as well.

There are around 20% of GOP primary voters who oppose most forms of immigration reform. This minority tends to be vocal, but their level of activism should not be confused with the size of their numbers. The large majority of primary voters see a badly broken immigration system and want it fixed.

Most Republicans are willing to support a pathway to U.S. citizenship, provided that several conditions are met, including criminal background checks, learning English, paying fines, and waiting a period of years.

Of primary concern to Republicans is securing the border to prevent future illegal immigration. There is understandable skepticism that neither Congress nor the Obama Administration can be relied on to actually enforce real border security. If provisions are put in place to satisfy these concerns, then a large majority of Republican primary voters will support comprehensive reform.

ABOUT BASSWOOD RESEARCH
Since its founding in 2001, Basswood Research has conducted survey research in every state and in hundreds of congressional districts and local communities. Its founder and principal, Jon Lerner, has been recognized by Roll Call, National Journal, the Washington Post and others as one of the leading Republican pollsters in the nation. Basswood has helped elect more than two dozen U.S. Senators, Members of Congress, and Governors, including leading conservatives such as Senators Tom Coburn, Pat Toomey, and Tim Scott. It has served as pollster for leading conservative advocacy groups such as the Club for Growth. And it has conducted surveys for the national Republican Party committees at the RGA, the NRSC, and the NRCC.

So, is this how the GOPee is justifying amnesty to the conservative members of Congress???

People view illegal immigration the way they do, because our officials laugh at it.

Show me a man that will clearly address it for what it is, and the public opinion will change dramatically.

It’s illegal
The illegals sap our schools, hospitals, government services...
Communities become instant slums...
Hospital emergency rooms come under tremendous pressure to close, because it’s a gateway to free services to illegals.
Kids in school sit there reading, while the children of illegal immigrants are taught English. Everyone falls behind.

Who wants this?
