US President Barack Obama continues to receive heavy flak for defending the nuclear deal he initiated with Iran, and then enlisting the support of his allies in the Senate to prevent rival Republican leaders from blocking its implementation.
Now, Obama will likely face more criticism after Argentine President Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner revealed in a speech before the United Nations General Assembly on Monday that a former Obama administration official tried to convince Argentina to provide nuclear fuel to Iran sometime in 2010.
In her remarks witnessed by world leaders, Kirchner recalled how Gary Samore, who once worked as the White Houses top advisor on nuclear issues, visited Argentina in 2010.

This is why Trump probably will never be President. Can you imagine all the laws that Obama AND congress (possibly even people in media) have broken in the past dozen or so years? A lot of them could go to jail, or worse.
I hope he has very good protection.
That is a very good question and one that deserves a serious answer because one of the little easter eggs buried in the language of Obama’s Iranian Nuclear Deal is an intentionally vague, poorly and overly broadly worded provision on “Civilian, Non Military “ Nuclear Technology transfer that gives Obama sufficient justification to openly transfer to Iran American nuclear materials and a lot more critical dual use technology unilaterally without the approval or notification of Congress and in secret so the American people are never informed of what he has done.
My biggest concern about the Obama Iranian Nuclear deal is not who is going to be monitoring and inspecting the Iranian's to prevent them from circumventing the terms of the agreement.
My biggest concern is who is going to be monitoring the Obama Administration to prevent the President from covertly transferring as much of America's nuclear energy and weapons technology to Iran as he possibly can before he he is forced out of office.
I think you have provided a pretty good description of President Obama and many members of his administration.
But even the Iranian's have rational motives for their seemingly crazy actions such as acting crazy and making wild threats to spook commodity speculators into paying a war premium for oil based on specialty than Iran could disrupt oil production in the region at any given moment in time
No, that’s not what Iran is about at all. They even more than Obama are apocalyptic in outlook.
What treachery!
The author of the article is an idiot and needs to learn the difference between reactor and weapons grade fuels. If Argentina was to provide reactor fuel to Iran it would preclude any need for enrichment by the Iranians. That would be a good thing. No centrifuges, no weapons.
Because it was not weapon materials and it would remove any excuse the Iranians had from operating centrifuges because they would have no need for them. Argentina has no nuclear weapons and they never will. They were headed in that direction in the 70's and 80's but now comply with all IAEA stipulations.
Argentina has only reactor grade fuel and would provide that.
That's all true. But to get the reactor fuel and submit to IAEA inspections would be fairly simple. Many countries have done it, including Turkey, Egypt, Morocco, Syria and a couple of African countries. There's a carrot of cheap fuel but the that gets taken away if the countries don't allow inspections. Now with Iran we have a mess, neither a satisfactory reactor fuel program nor an agreement that will preclude weapons.
And Iran can be trusted to take the alleged LEU (whether coming from Argentina or bound for Russia) and not enrich it further elsewhere, I see.
In any case, the point is that with a supply of LEU Iran has no need for enrichment facilities. That would be a huge win for the world.
A “win for the world” (what is meant by “the world”?) just how? By demonstrating that Iran is really after the bomb by their maintaining the centrifuges?
Obama already admitted via the “deal” that the USA’s goal is no longer to prevent Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons.
Why would anybody believe anything Hussein Obama says?
America’s first Muslim President wants Iran to have nuclear weapon capabilities. Radical Muslims want to kill Jews and along the way, rule the world for Islam. By starting WW III, it’s a win-win for Islam. The west bombs themselves into the stone age and the Muslims enslave what’s left in Muslim hell.
That is what Hussein Obama is working for.
And I think you are correct.
Remember what happened in North Korea. The NORKs agreed to stop enriching Uranium with the agreement South Korea and the US would provide a light water reactor. Before the ink was even dry, they restarted their effort to refine plutonium.

The quantity and quality of their centrifuges makes it obvious they are enriching for a bomb now. The IAEA monitors alloys and key components for centrifuges. Certainly that is not perfect and there are some countries (maybe quite a few) that ok with Iranian bomb due to their latent antisemitism. But there are other countries that would get on board inspections and sanctions if Iran were given reactor grade fuel.
Did the giveaway help the Norks with their bomb effort? Don’t know, asking. But these gifts of reactor fuel are designed to not be useful for bombs.
The deal that Obama and six other countries made with Iran (take note of which countries the others are) precludes any such thing. And nothing will stop Iran from getting a bomb anyway except eliminating the “Islamic Republic”.
As far as using gifted fuel for a weapon, you have a long way to go from 3-5% to 85%+.
