Davie, Florida (CNN)—At 3:30 p.m. Friday, one hour after Hillary Clinton was scheduled to take the stage at the gym at Broward College here, Vikesh Patel and three of his classmates left without catching a glimpse of the Democratic front-runner in this key Florida county. She was running late from a fundraiser.
"We've been here since one o'clock," said Patel, who doesn't know much about Clinton but whose parents have followed her and her husband for decades.
He and his classmates were also going to work the rally into a paper for a speech class they're taking.
"I guess we'll have to go see someone else give a speech," Patel said.
In the back of the gym, another student, Nichole Zapata, was rethinking her decision to bring her grandmother to see Clinton speak.

I was listening to Rush when a caller who was on the campus said there was no one there except organizers. The college had set up a special parking area and it was empty.

Typically, tickets to these appearances are made available to reliable Democrat activists. The selected recipients do not want to appear to be insufficiently zombie to the Dem party, so they accept the tickets, hoping they won’t be noticed as no-shows when the event comes off.
When almost all ticket-holders are no-shows, it’s time for the candidate to sober up and plan to exit from the race. Or at least to employ hire-a-crowds.
Nobody wants to see Hillary in person, they just want the gravy she promises to dispense....

The polls are of the general public - people who say they will vote Democrat. But Hillary can’t bear mingling with hoi polloi, so limits her live audiences to Dem activists, who, as it turns out, don’t really like her.
