From the moment Jeb Bush entered the presidential race, his financial backers said they chose him because he was the candidate who could go the distance. But few expected the marathon would be so difficult.
The former Florida governor is fifth in New Hampshirewhere he has campaigned hard with a presence on the airwaves. He is trailing Marco Rubio in a new national USA Today/Suffolk University poll and is competing with his one-time understudy for the many undecided donors who are waiting to see how the field shakes out. And Bush is still being overshadowed by the juggernaut that is Donald Trumpas the real estate magnate continues to dominate media coverage that has helped solidify his wide lead in the polls.
In interviews with more than a dozen Bush donors and bundlers this week, many said they are willing to be patient -- for now. But some donors are acknowledging frustration that all of Bush's advantages -- including hard dollars and a capable team with a presence in the four early vote states -- aren't making him a more forceful presence in the race.
"It's as if we keep investing in a company and, as a shareholder, we're not seeing any sales," one Bush donor told CNN, asking not to be named because of the sensitivity of internal campaign discussions.

Once they are assured that the RNC has finished rigging the game, then definitely.
Yikes! So, where will all those votes go if Jeb takes the hint and goes back home to mess with schools and Common Core crap?
Rubio is the big winner, certainly in Florida, which might even up the numbers with Trump in Florida, and the rest go to Carson and Fiorina, a few to Kasich.
This race is going to change on its face in a few weeks, I suspect. We need to pray Trump is not plateauing with just the base, but makes inroads to the general election voters. I believe he can, but part of his base will get the vapors and fall off.
That is the question. The base goes all freaky when their anointed one goes for the moderates and the Democrat. Of course, if they fail to expand their base, their fate is sealed for a fine loss.
Save your money folks..
A name will take you only so far. And if your name is ‘Bush’ then it won’t take you anywhere...................................
¡Yeb! isn’t seen as clever enough to pander by the GOP-e, which is the entire reason so many GOP-e hacks like Rube-o, Huckabee, and Lindsey Gay are running in the first place.
If they had this under control there would be no articles like this one.
Beats me.
If they had this under control, Jeb would have released his 3rd Quarter fundraising totals already.
The dogs don’t like the dog food.
I hope Rove and Co. dump every last cent they have into Jeb’s campaign.
looks like Jeb is having a hard time wearing his “big-boy pants”... his belt is slipping...
Ok then, at what point do they bail?
I can’t see many hanging past Oct. at these numbers.
