Passing tougher laws to help prevent gun violence remains a high priority for President Obama, the White House said Thursday after reports of a mass shooting resulting in multiple casualties.
“The issue of sensible steps that can be taken to protect our communities from gun violence continues to be a top priority of this administration,” press secretary Josh Earnest told reporters.
Up to 10 people were killed at shooting at a community college in Oregon, according to reports.
Obama was briefed on the shooting by homeland security adviser Lisa Monaco and will receive updates throughout the day, according to a White House official.
Earnest said the “vast majority of Americans” support stricter gun laws, including closing the so-called gun-show loophole. But he said Obama is “realistic” about the dim prospects of congressional action on gun control.

I have great suspicions that the latest shooting was well known PRIOR to the time the first shot was fired. Odumbo and his ilk are my prime suspects for either promoting or orchestrating yet another tragedy.

Yup... Umpqua Community College was a free fire zone from which guns had been banned.
This is what happens when the bad guys can come in and shoot up a place while victims are kept forcibly disarmed.
More gun control would only make school shootings far worse.

Obama didn’t mention the lone security guard at the Community College was unarmed; another “gun free zone” along with the “work place violence” at Fort Hood Killeen, Texas. I don’t think I heard him mention Mohammad Youssuf Abdulazeez, who killed four Marines in Chattanooga, Tennessee, also unarmed. His warped view of guns is sorely dangerous with Muslim terrorists staring down our collective throats....right here in the USA. Terrorists, crooks, criminals of all stripes will find the weapon they want and use it. By the way the Oregon shooter is said to have asked the person’s religion before he shot them...................
It appears as though the authorities have yet to release the shooter’s name. which leads me to believe that they have been told to withold that conformation.

There were scarce FEW “mass shootings” before the one { we are all waiting to leave the Whitehouse ] was elected, thats certainly not a mere coincidence.

Yes very much like they knew it was going to happen and what methods would be employed.
Isn’t it amazing that he never knows what is going on in his own administration until he sees it on TV but he knows about a shooting like this before it hits the airwaves?
