Kentucky county clerk Kim Davis says a private meeting with Pope Francis has inspired her - and given her a renewed sense of purpose.
I was crying. I had tears coming out of my eyes, Davis said in an exclusive interview with ABC News. I'm just a nobody, so it was really humbling to think he would want to meet or know me.

What didn’t he want others to hear?
Is anyone else surprised, that with the saturation coverage given to the pope’s activities on his visit to America, that there was a news blackout about his seeing Kim Davis at the time it happened?????
Supporting Kim Davis is going to cost him popularity points with his Liberal buddies...
Valery Garret says “Kim Davis was NOT on the approved for Pope visit list I made out! We may need to re-evaluate our social dealings (aka Dollar donations to the Vatican) with The Pontiff.”
No, he made a surprise visit to the Little Sisters of the Poor, too.
These were subtle messages to Obama that Obama is wrong in his lawsuits.
If the Pope or a priest meets with someone privately they will keep it private.
Kim Davis is free to recount the meeting as much as she wants but the Pope would not publicly comment on a private meeting.
If I had to guess, I'd guess that he chose to make this a pastoral rather than a political moment. Nevertheless, it became political anyway. PF was asked by a journalist on his return flight what he thought about people refusing to cater to homosexual unions, and he said people have a human right to be conscientious objectors to any participation, even if they are government officials. They have, he said, that "human right."
Although, really, he's too subtle by half. He should have invited them to flank him as he gave his talk to Congress. (H/t to Arthur McGowan.)
Well we were beat to death with every damn thing else papa did. So why the big deal about the homo thing being in secret? Just saying!
This story is on Huffington Post under the heading “The Pope met the Dope”. Real classy of them.
I don’t have a lot of time for this Pope, but I appreciate the fact that he made this pastoral visit - a deed of charity and friendship - by stealth.
Yes, and some freepers are going to scream: Drat! Foiled again!
“Seems like he could have mentioned the suffering Christians of the middle East - and Kim Davis - in his speech”
I wish he had spoken out more about the Christians being tortured and killed in the middle east. I also wish he had spoken out about the persecution of Christians in Cuba, China and other places.
Kim Davis is involving in ongoing legal matters. I don’t know if she or her lawyers wanted Pope Francis to publicly state her position.
“So why the big deal about the homo thing being in secret? Just saying!”
The word secret in the headline is a MSM distortion.
The meeting was not secret. Everyone knows about it.
However, the Pope’s meeting with Kim Davis was a private meeting to provide her encouragement and support. That is what pastors do. These private meetings are kept private. Nothing Kim Davis said will be made public unless she wishes to make it public.
