President Obama applies the same principles abroad that he does at home.
At home President Obama is well known for his preference for perceived parity over liberty. Most of his domestic agenda Obamacare, executive-order amnesties, open borders, near-zero interest rates, quantitative easing, the piling up of $9 trillion in new debt, tax hikes, more regulations is apparently aimed at shifting power and capital away from the upper middle class to the lower classes.
From Obamas first appearance on the national scene, his rhetoric has been directed against those whom he perceives as the inordinately privileged much more the supposedly uncouth upper middle class than the tasteful Marthas Vineyard Wall Streeters or the jeans-and-T-shirt Malibu super-rich.
Americans who did not favor his redistributionist vision were rhetorically reduced to clingers, nativists, the privileged unwilling to spread their wealth, leaches on government who didnt build their own businesses and who didnt realize they had already made enough money. Obama once suggested that he was for higher capital-gains taxes even if such tax hikes would discourage profitable activity and thus lead to lower revenues for the Treasury, simply for the sake of fairness reminding us of Tocquevilles various warnings that many people would prefer parity even if meant less liberty and wealth for themselves.
Obama sees the rest of the world as he does the United States and thus in need of a redistribution in power that will bring greater fairness to the planet. Accordingly, under current U.S. foreign policy, the desire for supposed equality trumps most considerations of human rights, values, consensual government, and our own national interest.
Take the current destruction of the Middle East. Most of the influence there for many decades has rested with Israel ... Obama, however, apparently saw this as unfair.

VDH ping ...
The part in the last paragraph about Dear Leader being smug about all his screw-ups says it all; it’s like the parable about how you can’t play chess with a pigeon, it’ll crap all over the board and strut around as if it won.
“More chaos? “Mission accomplished!”
SO tired of it, and it’s just gonna accelerate in his last months.
I understand democracy is frustrating. Democracy in the United States is certainly imperfect, Obama said. At times, it can be dysfunctional, but democracy, the constant struggle to extend rights to more of our people, to give more people a voice, is what allowed us to become the most powerful nation in the world. Because you and I (and VDH) don't think like Obama&Co think. There are certain top priorities that matter more importantly to them.
Mr. Obama thinks extending rights to homosexuals for same sex marriage and "BlackLivesMatter" giving people a voice make us the most powerful nation in the world. !!!!!!!
"Constitutional scholar" or not, he's purposely misrepresenting United States as a democracy to the world.
Another thing is that the Hope-and-Change speech may be ok in his first year (2009) and right around his Nobel peace prize time.
Not now, not after all his meddling turned MENA (and now Europe, maybe more) into such a mess all around. As VDH pointed out, yet he seemed oblivious and unconcerned, as long as he put his stamp on ‘events/things’.
And thus Putin’s UN speech yesterday “Do you realize what you have done?” stings to high heaven.
GOPe apologist VDH has no room to knock Obama for what the complicit GOP has tuned a blind eye to and even embraced.
