Ted Cruz couldnt get anyone in the Senate to back him tonight as he tried to get a ban on Planned Parenthood funding and a linkage of the Iran Nuclear deal in a government funding bill. He stood alone on the Senate floor.
After this Cruz launched into an hour speech, one that Mark Levin just tweeted out saying its a MUST LISTEN. I havent heard the whole thing yet but didnt want to keep it from you while I checked it out.
We must remember God used small armies to defeat huge armies. I am smiling and believe He is too. It is a start!
Praying if there were 49 who refused to stand with him, 49 will know the wrath of God.
Wow, this is a very powerful speech. I think this is the most honesty that I have ever heard coming from the US Senate.
Courage was the word I would most describe the situation.
bump for later
AWESOME. Cruz nails it!
Sadly, only us political junkies will ever see it. Sigh.
Hey Trump (we know you and your people lurk here), please teach Cruz some marketing skills and back him. You’re beyond good. He would be a better President, though.
Much of it was how Republican leadership caves under the threat of an obama veto which would “shut down the government”. Every Single Time!
At the end it was great - Cruz is a master. (1 hour long - no notes!) Anyway at the end, and Im guessing he had it planned this way. At the end of the speech he is talking about how the elected Republicans dont do what they are elected to do, and says no wonder the American people dont understand why leadership isnt listening to them. Right as he ends that sentence the leader taps his gavel and says his time is up.
Cruz asks for an extension of his speaking time.
He doesnt get it.
Then he concludes - with a sad voice, something like: The Democrats here refuse to listen to me any longer - just like the Democratic and Republican leadership refuses to listen to the American people.” [dramatic pause....] “I yield the floor.
Guess we all knew why this ship was sinking so fast.
Uniparty
May the Lord foil their plans and turn it back on them 10-fold.
They have shirked their responsibilities and betrayed their voters.
I have no pity for any of them that did.
Oh, thank you for that. Those last statements were cut off of the clip.
God Bless and keep Ted Cruz and his family.
His is a voice crying in the wilderness for the redemption of an institution damned by its corruption.
It won’t happen without a paradigm shift, a new and changed sense of purpose pressed upon it by agents outside itself.
Congress does a marvelous job of “being Congress.” That’s the problem here.
God bless him.
He’s preaching either to the choir or to the hecklers. So far the only one who seems to be preaching to the pews, so to speak, is Trump.
.....but I cannot help but think we are beyond redemption.
And if any man think that he knoweth any thing, he knoweth nothing yet as he ought to know. --1 Corinthians 8:2
How about “Behold! I am doing a new thing” ?
When people get tired enough of where the old business as usual is going, they might open up the doors to God.
...A man can receive nothing, except it be given him from heaven.--John 3:27
Cruz just laid bare the corruption in Washington with a Mr. Smith goes to Washington level speech. Cruz just helped oust Speaker Boehner who then cursed him on live tv. In camparison, Trump has talked about being a “winner” and picked fights with Hugh Hewitt and Megyn Kelly.
The problem with the giving is not on God’s end here. The problem is with people, what they are going to do with what might be given.
“He has made everything beautiful in its time.”
“Answer a fool according to his folly lest he be wise in his own eyes.”
That old WWE showman may have had a good point in talking with Hewitt, Kelly, and others by the token of their own arrant foolishness. By Trump’s own aver, this is not going to keep up forever.
As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:--Romans 3:10
Gladly that is not the end of the story. God opened up a way for people to receive new righteousness.
If that weren’t the case even you yourself would be barking vainly into the ether no matter what, and the bible itself would be a joke because nobody could ever be trusted to have written a word correctly.
