Pope Francis, "Jesus dying on the cross was a failure" [Revelation 13]
9/25/2015 | Jan Sobieski

Posted on 09/26/2015 11:31:49 AM PDT by Jan_Sobieski

The greatly heralded Pope Francis, beneficiary of 24 hour news coverage from all news networks, has once again given us insight into his inner self in a sermon at St Patrick's Cathedral in New York City (Transcript of Sermon) . After starting the service, Pope Francis gave a heart warming shout-out to his "religion of peace", “Muslim brothers and sisters” when he said this:

“I would like to express two sentiments for my Muslim brothers and sisters: Firstly, my greetings as they celebrate the feast of sacrifice.”

The Pope clearly understands that for the last 1400 years, Islam has held that Christians and Jews are not brothers and sisters, but rather infidels worthy of death. Islam's god, Allah, states in Surah 19 of the Koran that he has no son. To say so is blasphemy against Allah and his prophet, Mohammed. However, despite what Muslims believe, the Chrislamic Pope Francis has demanded that the Christian nations in Europe and America receive all Muslim "al hijrah" immigrants, while the Vatican has the strictest immigration policy on earth. Perhaps the syncretic Pope believes that by paying obeisance to Islam he can bring the irrational religion under his cognitive dissonant sphere of influence? His later words in the sermon seem to dignify the Islamic view of Jesus' failure on the cross when he stated:

"And if at times our efforts and works seem to fail and not produce fruit, we need to remember that we are followers of Jesus Christ and his life, humanly speaking, ended in failure, the failure of the cross.

The Bible foretells in Revelation 13 that in the last days before the return of Jesus, an international religious figure will rise on the scene. The religious figure will look like a self-sacrificing, philanthropist. A real lover of man and the earth! He will appear harmless as a lamb, but when he speaks, he speaks like a ravenous dragon. He may feign faith in Christ, but in reality will direct everyone to worship another political figure who will be promoted to help solve the world's problems. Somehow this religious figure is so intertwined with politics and the economic system, he is able to promote a new worldwide economic order where all must have the the political figure's mark on their person in order to purchase, and to show loyalty to the "new world system". The Bible is also clear that whoever receives this "mark" will be damned to hell, with no hope of redemption.

I am not sure if Pope Francis IS this religious figure. If not, he is certainly a wonderful forerunner. Every time he opens his mouth, he continues his foray into the world political and economic orders and his consistent promotion of homosexuality, Allah as God of the Bible, and Marxism/Socialism betraying his "inner dragon"...

Victory in Jesus, by Eugene Monroe Bartlett, Sr.

I heard an old, old story
How a Savior came from glory
How He gave His life on Calvary
To save a wretch like me
I heard about His groaning
Of His precious blood's atoning
Then I repented of my sins
And won the victory

O victory in Jesus
My Savior, forever
He sought me and bought me
With His redeeming blood
He loved me ere I knew Him
And all my love is due Him
He plunged me to victory
Beneath the cleansing flood

I heard about His healing
Of His cleansing pow'r revealing
How He made the lame to walk again
And caused the blind to see
And then I cried, "Dear Jesus
Come and heal my broken spirit,"
And somehow Jesus came and brought
To me the victory

O victory in Jesus
My Savior, forever
He sought me and bought me
With His redeeming blood
He loved me ere I knew Him
And all my love is due Him
He plunged me to victory
Beneath the cleansing flood

I heard about a mansion
He has built for me in glory
And I heard about the streets of gold
Beyond the crystal sea
About the angels singing
And the old redemption story
And some sweet day I'll sing up there
The song of victory

O victory in Jesus
My Savior, forever
He sought me and bought me
With His redeeming blood
He loved me ere I knew Him
And all my love is due Him
He plunged me to victory
Beneath the cleansing flood!

we need to remember that we are followers of Jesus Christ and his life, humanly speaking, ended in failure, the failure of the cross.

Can you please point to a link to that quote??...If this Pope really said this...its beyond shocking...it the Pope making a denouncement of Christ as Savior and denying resurrection...true sign of the end time clock running

...and what they hear this ‘beloved’ Pope say is that Jesus failed and died on the cross. This is very unfortunate.

More than that; deadly.

I started out with my family as Catholic until we moved south and could not find a Catholic Church in our part of Texas that had services in English. We tried an evangelical Church on a whim and started to read the Bible. We realized that the Bible says Jesus does not have to die daily on the cross...

Romans 6: 10 For in that he died, he died unto sin once: but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God. 11 Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.

1 Peter 3:18 For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:

We decided to stay with the Bible based churches and have never looked back.

quoting:

We can get caught up in measuring the value of our apostolic works by the standards of efficiency, good management and outward success, which govern the business world.

Not that these things are unimportant, of course. But we have been entrusted with a great responsibility, and this is why god’s people rightly expect accountability from us but the true worth of our apostolate is measured by the value it has in god’s eyes, to see and evaluate things from god’s perspective, calls for constant conversion in the first days and years of our vocation and, need I say, it demands great humility.

The cross shows us a different way of measuring success. Ours is to plant the seeds. God sees to the fruits of our labors. And if at times our efforts and works seem to fail and not produce fruit, we need to remember that we are followers of Jesus Christ and his life, humanly speaking, ended in failure, the failure of the cross.

Humanly speaking, Jesus’ death on the cross is the only lasting victory that humans can ever know.

In the light of his resurrection, I would agree.

Here's where my oldest son would quote his favorite Bible verse, which he gets to use on me all too often...

Romans 8:28

Thanks so much to all of you for your kind words and sharing my joy in my daughter 'getting her mind right', she was not dating anyone of the Muslim persuasion at the time, which made her temporary adherence to Islam even more unexpected, her involvement with Islam spanned only about a 3 month period but I believe the Lord allowed her to get a real good look at the way that Islam treats women (as chattel and property), and she began to see the 'not-so-pleasant' side of that cult.

I believe that what triggered her sudden interest was a sympathetic reaction to those Muslim students who were killed in North Carolina over a parking space (of all things), she wasn't far from that area and joined in a so-called 'interfaith community prayer function' which was nothing more than Muslims looking to recruit those who are emotionally vulnerable and easily swayed.

My daughter fortunately had already studied enough ancient civilizations to have a working knowledge of their flawed practices, and between the prayers that were offered up in her behalf, combined with her logic eventually prevailing over her own emotions, I had faith that Islam's grip on her would only be temporary.

It was a painful experience, in which I had to say with all sincerity (and I did) "Lord? You know how much I love my daughter, but if it comes down to being 'tolerant' of her embracing Islam, which would be an insult to Your Name, I choose You, the King of kings and Lord of lords"

If it were not for Jesus, I would not exist, I would have no reason to exist, life would be meaningless.

And I still have a long way to go, however I try to do what I heard a good friend say years ago which is "each day, I try to do my best, and trust Jesus for the rest".

To some extent this picture is correct. Indeed, Christ was murdered on The Hammer and Sickle about 140,000,000 Times...

Praise God your daughter came back to Christ. The power of prayer is amazing. I can’t say how happy I am for her and you that she is back in the fold.

Yes to all in your post.
Remember, though, the power is not in the prayer; it's in the One to Whom we pray.

Oh absolutely right FRiend, there is only One Name that is worthy of praise, that One Name above all other names, only One Name by which we are directed to pray, and that is in the Name of Jesus!.

Thank you for those thought-provoking passages. I have been thinking for some time now about making a change. It is difficult because my family has worshiped at the same Catholic church for four generations, but I have found a lot of value in books I’ve read from Baptist preachers.

1. Low in the grave he lay, Jesus my Savior,
waiting the coming day, Jesus my Lord!
Refrain:
Up from the grave he arose;
with a mighty triumph o’er his foes;
he arose a victor from the dark domain,
and he lives forever, with his saints to reign.
He arose! He arose! Hallelujah! Christ arose!

2. Vainly they watch his bed, Jesus my Savior,
vainly they seal the dead, Jesus my Lord!
(Refrain)

3. Death cannot keep its prey, Jesus my Savior;
he tore the bars away, Jesus my Lord!
(Refrain)

One thing at least that all Christians agree upon, and here this (so called) vicar of Christ says it ain’t so?
We’re hurting under his soul mate Obama, and all this dude does is tell us we suck and everything we believe is wrong.

He can’t be gone soon enough. Screw him and the donkey he rode in on.

I'd like to hear how you can justify that statement

The pope's statement is correct up to a point, but it is grotesquely incomplete. I'm sure the disciples thought the whole thing a failure up until the resurrection. I haven't read the transcript, but if he didn't follow-up quickly with the resurrection, then he is incompetent as a Christian leader at best and an out-and-out blasphemer at worst. Without the resurrection there would be no Christians.

It is NOT “blasphemy” to suggest that from a human perspective that the crucifixion appeared to be a failure.

No matter how much you hate the Pope, you can not believe that he believes Christ died in vain.

I disagree that it is a good address

Its one of his better ones because it is relatively brief and to the point.

Most of them are a lot of blah-blah-blah and my eyes roll up in my head before I get very far.

He is not a good pope; he does not know how to distinguish politics from the gospel.

He sees himself as the head of an institution, which I suppose he is, and talks like it rather than speaking like an evangelist.

Nothing he will ever have to say about Global Warming will be worth ten cents. My message to him would be the same message I'd give to anyone, catholic or non-catholic alike: Preach Christ and let the chips fall. Preach Christ. Whatever the subject matter of the day, immigration, global warming, muslim invasions, whatever it is, preach Christ.

Like I have said, a guy who has walked with God his entire adult life should be more clear on the concept than what he seems to be. He was probably a good neighborhood priest. He would probably be a pleasant guy to chat with over coffee. He should not be pope.

He would not last ten minutes as a street preacher. He just isn't that clear on the concept.

This Pope? I don't believe that this Pope believes in God. He believes in government.
