With Speaker John Boehner’s (R-Ohio) job in doubt, House conservatives have been holding internal talks about a new leadership coalition that could include Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) as Speaker and more conservative members occupying lower rungs on the leadership ladder.

You are entitled to your opinion about what is acceptable. I disagree. We need an aggressive, conservative in the leadership position. The Speaker is the critical position. We don't need Boehner's hand picked deputy as his successor. Nothing will mitigate McCarthy's selection to the position.
And the new Leadership HAS to represent the WHOLE caucus. Not just us or them.
The caucus has to represent the GOP voters. 62% of GOP voters believe that they have been betrayed by their party and two-thirds believe the GOP leadership has not done anything to stop the Obama agenda.

Knowing one House conservative very, very well, they're not accepting McCarthy as a Boehner substitute!
They all know who and what he's about.
Sounds like the woman who finally kicks out the drunken philandering husband and turns immediately to another just like him. No conservative who votes for McCarthy should be renominated next year. It doesn’t matter, really. If they go with McCarthy, the Republican Party will lose their majority, probably in a big way, next year. Replacing Boehner with a real conservative is the only way the Repubnlicans might keep their majority in the House. They WILL lose the Senate. President Trump’s opposition will be Democrat majorities in the Congress.
Only three words needed to respond to this.

Right. I have no idea, but how can we stop the election of McCarthy? We need to get a GOOD conservative replacement.

A Boehner lite?
Not gonna help pacify anyone.
Someone a little "tarnished" so the big guys in charge know won't step out of line too far, but someone who doesn't have blood on his/her hands from stabbing conservatives in the back and removing them from committee assignments, so that probably means no one the current leadership will qualify - but they just might get enough RINOs and DNC votes to make it.
Sadly, it will take many more elections to separate the bad guys and gals from those honest people who go to DC to really represent the folks back home and We the People!
Those guys and gals found out, that's "just not how things are done in DC," they had to "wake up and smell the coffee."
Many did and returned home not to become part of the problem, others stayed to fight but they've fought alone without a voice.
Maybe, just maybe there's a chance in the future to really turn things around but it isn't going to happen in 2015-16.
What about Rep Meadows, since he’s been most in the news as challenging Weeper Bourbon, er, Boehner?
Come November 1st, I will be in Congress and John Boehner will be gone. Time and again, the Speaker and his allies launched into personal attacks or simply ignored conservatives when we asked him to fight for conservative principles. When he could not control our votes, Speaker Boehner began to punish me and other conservatives who dared to dissent.
Even now, Speaker Boehner is joining Washington Insiders to fund the horrific actions of Planned Parenthood. This is a complete and total abandonment of our conservative principles.
And it has happened again and again.
So when Speaker Boehner announced his resignation today, my first thought is that it was a small victory for the American people whose voices have been ignored for too long.
But John Boehner's resignation is not enough. If we continue to turn Congress over to President Obama, Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi, the American people will continue to lose. And just because John Boehner is not the Speaker doesn't mean his big money backers will stop attacking conservatives who want to stop Washington's stranglehold on the American people. The Speaker's Super PAC friends already ran slanderous ads against me because I would not support funding for President Obama's illegal executive amnesty.
They have already committed to fund millions of dollars of negative ads in conservative districts next year to try and defeat us."
....etc. His letter goes on asking me to donate again to his fight against Planned Parenthood and those donors who keep DC the cesspool it is, so I won't bore you with that but wanted to let you know what's happening behind the scenes where people are cheering the end of John Boehner - au contraire!
