Wish we had a big THUMBS UP button to push on FR...I’d given one to your post!

Sen Ted Cruz is likely going to be VP.
But, could you just imagine him controlling the purse strings of Congress....and, standing up against Midge? (That is, until Midge resigns, next :)
Would be glorious!! But, Cruz has better options....VP, SCOTUS, etc.

Will he be able to stay sober until the end or will he just not show up and then resign.
To: Lopeover
that was my reaction as well.
No, first I did a happy dance, then had to sit back down and fact check, feeling that maybe I was being toyed with.

Probably did. Im guessing the Pope got a whiff of his porous-oozing 80 proof cologne and told him he really needs a 12 step program and some bilirubin light bulbs in his tanning bed. See, Laz? The Pope has dome something good!

Before everyone celebrates, my question is that Boehner resigns - so what? There are reported to be somewhere around 80 conservatives in the House, which means there are about 167 non-conservative Republicans. We are not going to see a conservative elected Speaker.
There are a few dozen genuine conservatives in the House, IMO. The rest are careerists from safe GOP districts who are “conservative” for pay but owned by K Street on the big issues.

Not to be mean or anything but I remember reading that alcoholics are more prone to crying because their emotions and nervous system is more frayed than those who are not alcoholics.

Wow, this good news if a leader is picked to replace.
I nominate Trey Gowdy!

Well maybe, but while the Pope spoke before Congress, he used up so many tears he has almost none left; so this is really a last ditch effort to save he remaining tears for really important and moving events to come, like the accession of Hillary or Bernie.

No wonder he was crying yesterday while the Pope was speaking. He must have either decided on his own or given a warning to step down or be voted out.

Won’t necessarily do us much good, if the same cabal or RINOs that put him there are allowed to just replace him with another RINO.
