The teacher would've been negligent and I'd think possibly fired if the incident was not reported. Most schools I was in had pretty specific regulations about things like that.

If real reporters still existed, they would've figured it all out, what happened that day, and what if any school regulations applied.

If I were that first period teacher, I think the thing to do would've been to have the device held in the principal's office, to be picked up by a parent.

The teacher would have (and should have) reported it no matter what the color or religion of the kid in question. And Ahmed and his family know this perfectly well.

Imagine if some kid grabbed a hot wire? It can be dangerous to expose any AC transformer.
