Must not have read all of the furious tweets from the left immediately after the interview. Trump refused to answer the "birther" question and that is all they are running with. Every news report, every channel.
I thought the entire interview was cordial and relaxed on both sides.

It’s Politico - enough said.

Colbert seemed charmed by The Donald and was quite deferential toward him. They even seemed to like each other. The atmosphere is very different when two people are face-to-face with each other instead of viewed from afar.

Why does Donald Trump remind me of General George Patton?

One of the most depressing spectacles of my 55 years is watching intelligent presidential hopefuls go on comedy shows in which they humiliate themselves. Now, I didn’t watch this, and I’m sure Trump did fine but - still - do we really need our people to be doing this? We live in “interesting times” and at some point we are going to have to get serious and ignore the shallow interests of late night television.

I watched Steven Colbert for the first time in history just to see the Donald. And it seemed like a fun lighthearted interview. I have no idea who this guy usually does interviews and will probably never watch him again...
but it seemed like an ok interview
