Almost half of Americans, 49%, say the federal government poses "an immediate threat to the rights and freedoms of ordinary citizens," similar to what was found in previous surveys conducted over the last five years. When this question was first asked in 2003, less than a third of Americans held this attitude.
...
Overall, Americans who agree that the government is an immediate threat tend to respond with very general complaints echoing the theme that the federal government is too big and too powerful, and that it has too many laws. They also cite nonspecific allegations that the government violates freedoms and civil liberties, and that there is too much government in people's private lives.
The most frequently mentioned specific threats involve gun control laws and violations of the Second Amendment to the Constitution, mentioned by 12% who perceive the government to be an immediate threat.
...
Other general complaints enunciated by smaller numbers of those who think the government poses an immediate threat include perceptions that the government is "socialist," that the government spends too much, that it picks winners and losers such as the wealthy or racial and ethnic minorities, that it is too involved in things it shouldn't be and that it violates the separation of powers.
More specific complaints -- again voiced by small numbers of those who agree with the threat statement -- focus on freedom of speech, freedom of religion, the overuse of police and law enforcement, government surveillance of private citizens including emails and phone records, government involvement in gay marriage issues, overregulation of business, overtaxing, the healthcare law and immigration.

Damn right. The effing Feds are the number one threat to individual rights along with the typical leftist state governments.
“Change the law and they won’t enforce it. “
That is a rather retarded statement.
Government: “Kill the Jews!”
The Jews: “That’s illegal!” “
Cops: “Hey, change the laws and we won’t!”
Me: “They are the ones enforcing draconian laws, so they are.”
You: “Change the law and they won’t enforce it.”
So much for law enforcement’s oath to protect and defend the constitution. You just said they merely follow what they are told to do regardless of its constitutionality.
Which law do they enforce that is unconstitutional? I have never been arrested and have only been “detained” due to traffic violations. I have no problem with the police.
Real Americans know our enemies.
Time to remind us all, over and over, of their names. And that hey can most certainly be neutered as threats (legally, of course).
This is one of the reasons Trump and Carson are so popular, they are not career politicians and want the best for the citizenry, not the government.
To quote a line from an old John Prine song (I know he's a lefty, but still enjoy some of his old stuff:
A question ain't really a question if you know the answer too."
It's why we're doomed - the Left has no problems rising up and doing battle in the streets.
This awakening of folks to the governmental threats is a big reason why so many conservative Christians are now being "deemed to be bigger threats than the terrorists". They can rest easy - no real will to rock the boat - hell we have folks here who cry because they think it will cause them some inconvenience if Trump wins and then raises tariffs on some products that overly benefit other countries (like Mexico) because they can't understand that sometimes it takes some pain to reverse things and return to the Constitution and taking care of Americans. With folks like those hanging on a conservative Forum, how weak is the will of those who don't get active?

You know, I'm really tired of that question, as if it is a litmus test for criticizing any type of police behavior.
.
Only half?
Our schools are definitely failing us!
.
Local Police are not the problem......Well, yes they are. They are no longer trained to be Peace Officers. They are trained and led to what the Fed Gov. wants them to do or lose their grants. Same thing with FD’s whether paid or volunteer.
Government has been a threat ever since the 2006 Census when the Census workers took the GPS location of every citizen’s residence.
Now Obama uses that info against his political enemies.Obama is the first drone president. There WILL NOT be ANY others.
