The New York Times is reporting that Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker is withdrawing from the 2016 race:
Gov. Scott Walker of Wisconsin has concluded he no longer has a path to the Republican presidential nomination and plans to drop out of the 2016 campaign, according to three Republicans familiar with his decision, who spoke on condition of anonymity.
[…]
The short answer is money, said a supporter of Mr. Walkers who was briefed on the decision. Hes made a decision not to limp into Iowa.
There will be a live press conference at 6pm EST. Walker was seen as a strong contender for the Republican nomination, given his backstory and record as the governor of Wisconsin. He was leading in the polls in Iowa, but saw a precipitous decline in support throughout the summer. The latest CNN/ORC poll seems to have been the final nail in the coffin, as Walker barely drew 1 percent in the polls.
Gov. Walker is the second candidate to drop out of the race. The first was former Texas Gov. Rick Perry, who suspended his campaign earlier this month.
Updates to follow after the press conference.
Please be Bush next.
Well....there goes my backup candidate....
Marco Rubio campaign manager Terry Sullivan was more blunt. People dont stop running for president because they run out of ideas, or run out of a desire to give speeches, they stop running because they run out of money.
Sullivan said that the Rubio campaign had just nailed down [Walkers] New Hampshire state co-chair to endorse Marco, adding: Were working hard were prepared as people move on from the race to kind of capitalize on it and pick up their supporters.

I guess this means George Wills wife is out of a job.
The little pip squeek now will likely go to Rube the boobio.
Walker in my view flip flopped out of the job.
Unions applaud this move.
I said Walker would drop out soon on a thread a couple of weeks ago. Walker has been dropping in the polls at home in Wisconsin as well as nationally. If he wants to still keep his job as Gov, he needs to get back to WI and protect his political home front.
I think the jbush camp recalculated how many splitters they will need.
jbush will position himself to be the most like campaign Fiorina and campaign carson and campaign paul.
for the establishment it is lie to get elected and then oppress in office.
Thanks for the responses..that was quick!
Listening to NPR in the car a few minutes ago. Their political aparachik sez that walker is merely an askerisk* and has no voters to go to other Republican candidates. Oh, and Dr Ben Carson is a racist.
And Rubio. Rubio has quite few skeletons in his closet.
Not so sure about “over managed”.
My own take is that his public personae was not very memorable and that combined with the immigration faux pas, started him off on the wrong foot and he never recovered.
Typical Midwestern candidate...similar to nearly all of them. I guess it is related to the life and times of flyover country.
There have been numerous threads foe the past two hours discussing subject.
Who is next?
Crispy Cream is polling about what Walker is , he is my guess.
Tea Party support for Walker will split between Cruz and Trump. Walker made it plain he doesn’t like FioRINO.
Most of the people who have not made the main debate should exit, except for Santorum, he is a Class act.
He does have skeletons, but if Jeb fades he will be the next GOPe choice.
Another thread. Are you Okay?

Scott Walker is dropping out of the presidential race ^
Eric Boling explained it all has to do with funding. They must stay in with the hopes they can get enough money to pay the bills. They are not creating any more debt — not actively campaigning
yea that’s what scares me - Marco Amnesty Rubio - seen he got a bump in the polls after the latest debates. Lets not be fooled again.
Sadness in George Will’s house.
Walker would make a great Secretary of Labor.
